Feathered Visitors

Like all other birds who drop in, they have very distinct  personalities. There is the cheeky one, the bold and shy one, the extremely hungry one who takes your finger  and the very well-mannered one who only takes little pieces.

The kookaburra is our favourite visitor.  Sometimes there is only one, sometimes four or five. If they all land together on the veranda railing, its pretty full on with the feeding.  With some of them you have to watch your fingers..... .

They don't get  much food, so they will not become too dependent on us........ Just the little bit of extra now and then:)

They come frequently during autumn, winter and spring, but not much during   summertime.
