Face |
For most people, faces are the hardest to draw, but here, you must realize the proportional values between each characteristic of the face. Hopefully, with this tutorial, you will see drawing faces as an easier thing draw.
To start off with, you need to have handy a pencil, eraser, ruler (optional) and paper.
Now, to begin the drawing you need to likghtly sketch a an outline of a face. It will most likey resemble an upside-down egg (fig 1).
Then you will need to draw a line at the upper portion of the face (fig 2). This will be about one-third of the way from the top .
Now you will need to draw two lines vertically cutting the face into three sections (fig 3).
Now you will know that where the lines meet, is the center of the eyes. Draw a small circle around them, followed by the oval shape around them to form the actual eyes. Now erase the lighter straight lines just around and inside the eyes (fig 4). Next, lightly draw a horizontal line through the center of the face. Then, draw a horizontal line towards the bottom of the face, about two-thirds of the way down. This will show where the end of the nose with rest. Also, on the side of the face will be where the ears will go. The lips will go slightly below the line and the ends of the lips will be lined up with the center of the eyeballs (fig 5).
There should now be a box in the center of the face and this is where the nose will go. Just add the shading technique from the sphere tutorial if you wish, and add whatever other features you want to it. This is your face.
