GREATEST MOVIE SCENE OF ALL TIME

"In BATMAN (1989) when the Joker appears and shoots Carl Grissom, because it always makes your "evil side" smile."

"I think the greatest movie scene of all time is when all the students in DEAD POETS SOCIETY stand on their desks and say: "Oh captain, my captain" to their teacher who is leaving the school."
    //Alice

"At the end of DEAD POETS SOCIETY - when Ethan Hawke stands on the bench and some of his fellow classmen follow him and they say: "Captain, my captain" and Robin Williams answers : "Thank you boys." That scene always makes my heart skip a beat even after viewing it plus ten times and it shows what kind of influence a good teacher can have on his students."

"
When Johnny lifts Baby up at the end of DIRTY DANCING."

"In EMPIRE OF THE SUN as three kamikaze pilots prepare to depart for their deaths, young Jim, watching from behind the barbed wire of the prison camp, joins in singing the stunningly beautiful song that causes the scene to show, as none before or since, that humanity and what we have in common, transcends even war, and life and death. This movie is Speilberg's only commercial failure, but nonetheless is a work of genious and anyone who can watch this scene without tears streaming down their cheeks should be shot at sunrise for having a complete paucity of emotion."

"THE COLOR PURPLE.......when Cecelia finally leaves Albert and shouts from the car...I may be black, I might even be ugly...but I'm still here!!! Electric!"
    //Ursula (ursula.sneddon@officedepot.com)

"The best scene is in TOP GUN at the end when Tom Cruise is standing at the juke box. Then Kelly McGillis turns up unexpectedly, you think that she's gone, but she comes back showing she still loves him, while "You've Lost That Loving Feeling" plays in the background, makes me wish I was her!!!!"

"The Railway Station Scene in THE UNTOUCHABLES. Immaculately filmed, charged with tension and superbly played out. I didn't know I could hold my breath that long. And it all culminates in a wonderful dialogue. "You got him?" "Yeah...I got him." "Take him." Bang!"
    //Guiggy (guig@guig.fsnet.co.uk)

"When Rocky Balboa (Sylvester Stallone) wins against the Russian bastard Ivan Drago in ROCKY IV. I've seen that movie four times, and still loooooves that scene!!!"
    //Elisabeth

"The final lightsabre duel between Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader as this scene excellently shows the raw emotions that both father and son are feeling toward each other, Lukes frustration at Vader as he realises he may never be turned from the dark side and Vaders anger at Luke for not joining him all this whilst Emperor Palpatine looks on cackaling sadistacally and a classic score to acompany all this really makes me feel the emotions being fought out on screen, plus this also has to be the best lightsabre duel in the entire saga."
    //Clive Launceston (yodaspants@hotmail.com)

"RETURN OF THE JEDI. At the end when Luke just wailed on his father. Then the emperor is wailing on Luke, and with his last amount of strength, Darth Vader picks up the emperor and kills him."

//Jonathan

"Al Pacino in SCARFACE when he is on his balcony and shouts with all guns blazing "Say allo to my little friend!". Action Scenes like that just aren't shot anymore."
    //Darren

""Say hello to my little friend" in SCARFACE"
    //awais (kazmio@hotmail.co.uk)

"TERMS OF ENDEARMENT...two scenes from that movie. When Debra's character is saying goodbye to her children and the youngest boy is breaking his heart, so lifelike! Then when she looks over to
her mother one last time with a slight smile and then dies...a real tear jerker!"

    //Ursula (ursula.sneddon@officedepot.com)

"At the very end of POLTERGIEST, when the exhausted Freeling family check into a hotel and close the door and a few moments later, Craig T. Nelson is seen pushing the TV set out of the room and leaving it outside. A classic, tongue-in-cheek ending to one of the greatest, edge-of-your-seat thrillers ever made."

//Isaac Jones III (Isaac5855@hotmail.com)

"There is a lot of classic movie scenes, but the one that sticks out in my mind is the scene in POLTERGEIST when Carol Ann says "They're here.". It's such an unforgettable scene. I think that is the best haunted house flick out there."
     //Matt

"The greatest scene of all time is between Rocky and Mick in ROCKY III. Rocky's just found out that his ten title defenses had been hand picked by Mick to protect him. Rocky pleads with Mick to train him one more time. The chemistry between these two characters is immense, unfortunately very rare these days."
    //Liz Davo (liz.davison@sunwin.co.uk)

"I also love the scene in ONLY WHEN I LAUGH when Marhsa Mason, dying for a drink, calls her doctor from the rehab, he's not there and she doesn't want to talk to the doctor on the phone and she slams the receiver down about five times. Marsha Mason is no Katharine Hepburn, but this was one of her strongest most intense moments onscreen."

//Isaac Jones III (Isaac5855@hotmail.com)

"DAS BOOT - Final scene, when the boat is attacked by bomber planes, just as it had reached the harbour. Perfect demonstration of inevitability of sudden death in senseless wars."

    //David (mail@david-muessener.de)

"
The greatest movie scene of all time is where Darth Vader tells Luke he is his father in THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK because it was an incredible surprise coupled with one of the greatest baddies, with a supreme presence in voice and stature. In this scene Lucas filmed it in such a way that it made you hate Vader so much on Lukes behalf as he continued to pound on him, then completely turn you around with the revelation."
   //Billy Barry

"SOMEWHERE IN TIME final scene, when Christopher Reeves makes his last journey back in time to find Jane Seymour waiting for him. It tries to show there is hope of life after death, something we need to believe in, whether it be true or not. It is beautiful and touching."
