"When Al Pacino
is giving the football speech about "life's
a game of inches", in ANY GIVEN SUNDAY". God, after a speech like that anyone
would be ready to go to war! AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!"
//RAV
"The scene from AMERICAN BEAUTY, when Kevin Spacey gets shot.
The five minutes after he gets shot maybe summarizes all his life."
//Rahul (Rahulp05@yahoo.com)
"One of the greatest movie scenes of all
time, is the scene in AMERICAN HISTORY X, where they are sitting around
the table having a heated discussion. The acting is brilliant, the script
fantastic, and the end cinematography, when the mum is outside the house
crouched on the curb is breathtaking!!!"
//Danny Harris (danny_harris28@yahoo.co.uk)
"The moment in AMERICAN
HISTORY X where Edward Norton kills the black
robber and is arrested. The look in his eyes chilled me to my bones."
//Coatie (ro36702@trurocollege.ac.uk)
"Greatest movie scene of all time is in AMERICAN HISTORY X when Edward
Norton's character catches the attempted car thieves and kills one by making
him bite the curb and kicking the back of his head. I couldn't walk down
a street for a month without thinking about that. Edward Norton at his best!!!"
//Hickey
"There are so many, I would need to pick a
genre. I'll go for comedy and THE BIG LEBOWSKI. When the dud is at the porn
king's house and has the fantasy at the bowling ally - laughed my ass off!!!"
//Sally
"THE MATRIX lobby scene. Absolutely amazing
kung fu kicking action from Neo and the lovely trinity."
//Justin (vannila_icee@hotmail.co.uk)
"In NOTTING HILL, when Julia
Roberts tells Hugh Grant that she's also just a girl, standing in front
of a man, asking him to love her. It's the moment in the film that
makes it all good..."
"The beginning battle
scene of SAVING PRIVATE RYAN made me perch on the end of my seat when
I saw it for the first time at the cinema. It's a breathtaking scene
which depicts the horrors of war in explicite detail which heads up a
fantastic film."
//Jody
"The greatest scene of all time is in the movie ALIEN: RESURRECTION
when Ripley and her buddies are the only survivors of thier crew and they
crash land on Earth."
//Paco el Polo Loco
"The scene in BOOGIE NIGHTS, when Dirk and his gang try to rip off Alfred
Molinas crazed coke dealer, high tension and hysterical throughout, brilliantly
played by everyone, and set to a perfect soundtrack."
"The greatest movie of all time is TITANIC because Leonardo DiCaprio
and Kate Winslet do a
great job making you believe Jack and Rose are real."
//Hottie (drtbikgrl@aim.com)
"I think the greatest scene of all time is in BRAVEHEART when
William Wallace (Mel Gibson) is getting tortured and then the guy asks him
his last words and he says "FREEDOM!!!". I think Mel
Gibson is such a good actor and this scene is so thrilling and it shows
great courage!! I just love it!"
//Alexandre Ducray Mauritius (da_king_of_da_hood@hotmail.com)
"The end of BRAVEHEART full stop when Hamish screams Wallace's
name, then charges at the English absolutely amazing gets me everytime or
even the speech by Mel Gibson for their 1st battle.
Unrivaled film, one of the greatest ever."
//Lee Hall (filmbum1@hotmail.com)
"Come on, the end of FOUR ROOMS - The camera zooms on Norman's
lucky zippo (that didn't light the first try) then zooms on the pinky finger
as the hatchet comes down. couldn't have been better."
//Mikey
"Al Pacino
and Robert
De Niro having coffee in HEAT. They are arguably the best two actors
of their time and finally in a film together and adversaries."
//Jason (jason.spring@siemens.com)
"Al Pacino
and Robert
De Niro sitting opposite each other in the
restaurant in HEAT. Even though they both appeared in THE GODFATHER, PART
II, they were never actually in the same scene. Seeing those two legendary
actors together on screen is by far the best shot ever recorded!!!!"
//Victoria
"Ewan MacGregor overdosing in TRAINSPOTTING to the Lou Reed
song Such a Perfect Day."
//Steve
"The greatest movie scene of all time is in THE USUAL SUSPECTS,
when Chazz Palminteri realizes that
Kevin Spacey is Keyser Soze. Unbelivebly great!!"
//Maria Serina
"The very end of THE USUAL SUSPECTS,
when you realize that Kevin Spacey's character was Kayser Soze the whole
time. As he's walking away from the police station and his limp slowly transforms
into an effortless stride...wow!!!"
"In THE USUAL SUSPECTS when the detective figures out that Verbal Kint
is Keyser Soze just as Verbal leaves the building never to be heard from
agian. It's the classic mystery twist updated for our generation."
//Dom
"I love the scene in WAITING TO EXHALE
when Angela Basset gathers up everything her husband owns, puts it in
the middle of the driveway and sets fire to it. A fabulous display of
true anger expertly performed by a superb actress."
//Isaac Jones III (Isaac5855@hotmail.com)
"Pick any scene from PULP FICTION."
"PULP FICTION when Samuel L. Jackson and John Travolta kill the
two guys in the apartment. It's the best because the dialogue is unforgettable
and the acting could not have been matched by anyone... Tarantino
at his best."
//Hideo (matt_spriggs@hotmail.com)
"The escape scene from THE
SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION. Most people I know who
have seen the film, say that Andy's (Tim Robbins') escape comes as a total
shock. The look on the warden's, Red's and a
guard's face is one of total stupification after they realize that Andy
has escaped. The explanation of how he pulled it off left me in a gleeful
daze the first time i saw it. Classic!"
//Manuel (manny.peg@ziplip.com)
"The scene in the THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION
when he plays the opera music over the pa-system, as the camera flows over
the yard and the inmates all look up in hope."
//Graeme Easton
"THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION
- The scene where Andy locks himself in the office and plays Mozart's Marriage
of Figaro full blast over the prison speakers and refuses to switch
if off when confronted by the governor!"
//Ursula (ursula.sneddon@officedepot.com)
"I'm seeing a lot of LORD OF THE RINGS
near the top, good films granted but greatest scene's ever?
I'd have to say the scene in THE SHAWSHANK
REDEMPTION, as Morgan Freeman narrates and Tim
Robbins crawls through the sewage pipe. A masterful piece of directing,
Darabont at his very best, the score and screenplay merge beautifully. By
the way, whoever brought up PULP FICTION - respect granted. A great Tarantino
work."
//Joshua (jo4thandie1@hotmail.com)
"THE SHAWSHANK
REDEMPTION. When Andy (played by Tim Robbins)
escapes from the prison when it's raining and you know he's free."
//Michael Michael (movies-sport-music@michael.com)
"The final closing shot within THE SHAWSHANK
REDEMPTION because it depicted a real sense of
justice having finally been achieved....an innocent man free and a guilty
man redeemed.... always
brings a smile to my face..."
//Faisal Nisar (f_nisar40@hotmail.com)
"The opening sequence in CLIFFHANGER - where Stallone determinedly
intones - "You are not gonna die!" - while his eyes betray his helplessness
when Michelle Joyner - the manic fear palpable in her eyes - screaming around
her in mid-air for help - refusing to help herself - and then the
dreamlike quality of the eternal drop away into space with nothing to hold
onto. Sends a cold shiver up my legs and the emotion welling up each time
I watch the sequence - and you wonder - what can you do - what can you do?"
//Siva Gabbita (siva_gabbita@yahoo.com)
"TRUE ROMANCE. The scene in which Christopher Walken tries
to get information from Dennis Hopper about his son and Dennis knows he
is going to die no matter what so he just totally insults the Sicilian
race. It's got to be the greatest scene ever!"
//Nick
"In WHAT'S EATING GILBERT GRAPE - a film most
people have never heard of, let alone seen! The children of the recently
deceased mother stand in the fields and watch their house burning. They
had to set fire to the house to save their dead (and grossly obese) mother
the indignity of being winched/carried by eighteen men down the stairs.
Of course, with the mother being dead, the indignity is really theirs,
so they watch the house burn with all their furniture standing in the garden.
Tragic..."

"The greatest movie scene of all time is at the end
of RESERVOIR DOGS when everybody pops each other because you would never
have guessed that would happen. And when I saw that scene my jaw dropped
and it was kinda funny and surprising which is what Tarantino does best.
He makes you laugh at things you never would."
//CodeCat
"Angela Basset as Tina Turner in the fim WHAT'S LOVE GOT
TO DO WITH IT? in which she, escaping from Ike Turner once and for all,
turns up at a hotel reception and states in floods of tears that she is
Tina Turner and that she would like to stay at this particular hotel and
that although she hasn't any money now she will pay them back. It's a wonderful
scene, Angela should have got an Oscar, and never fails to make me choke.
Great!"
//Jo Jo (joibegbuna@hotmail.com)
"The scene between Christian Slater (Will
Scarlet) and Kevin Costner (Robin of Locksley) in ROBIN HOOD: PRINCE OF
THIEVES in which Christian Slater reveals he has a brother, it just gets
me everytime."
//Alasdair Hamilton
"Thelma and Louise
going over the cliff at the end of THELMA AND LOUISE"
//Penny
"The scene in GOODFELLAS when Joe Pesci brilliantly
pretends to scare Ray Liotta by asking what he means by 'You're a funny guy'.
It's such a great movie anyway but that scene sticks out."
//Jamie
