Room
Service
Room
service in New Park is under responsible of Café staff, so the room
service is the café staff that works in their shift. All room
service order will taking in café, but the order will send by the
room service. Before we started the duty in morning or afternoon we
will briefing first by the Senior Captain who in case in that shift
or Manager or Assistant Manager, except night shift no briefing.
When we briefing the senior captain will give the job, which
station is your responsible and who is room service. If any holiday
or other public holiday room service will work with one staff for
back up room service, this is the very tired job because we must
help room service to bring the mise’ n place and put in the place,
we also have to help in café for handle the guest, and the room
service just do his order. The room service and the back up must a
waiter not waitress. Morning order is more than afternoon order
because the guest will breakfast. The standard of the order will be
send is maximum 15 minutes, and minimum 7 minutes.
The
room service have to do floor check for finding the tray which after
the guest using, for morning shift room service floor check to
times: at 10.00am after breakfast and 02.00pm after lunch, for the
afternoon shift just do the floor check one times at 07.00pm when
the dinner just started. Specially for night shift the captain who
midnight shift with the waiter have to floor check with the room
service at 03.00am, beside to take the dirty tray we also have to
looking for the guest who put the breakfast card in front of the
door, for the breakfast order. The breakfast card just available in
6th floor because this is the suite floor and the 13th
floor until 21st floor. When any guest order the
breakfast by hung up the breakfast card in front of the door, the
room service have to prepare the order, check the time if the guest
want his order before 07.00am, we have to send the order. But if the
want their order after 07.00am, we just prepare the cutleries,
inside the tray, put all the equipment for this order, after that we
ask to next shift or room service. If we find complain from the
guest, we have to try our best to give explain to the guest, for the
last way if we can’t handle comp-lain from the guest we ask them
to no need angry or we call our captain or senior and ask to them
about the complain or guest want, because sometimes the guest always
angry because the order come late or any something they don’t want
and didn’t asking before order.
Last
time also I have complain from the guest, I’m as room service and
training I have to do all my best because sometime our boss didn’t
believe to training. This is the story, this is guest is regular
guest, in this time they stayed around 1 month, but every time they
ordered, they always complain to us. Actually this guest is not so
bad but only his wife is want this and that, never enjoy her order.
When I was room service I have ordered from her, she orders one
banana love boat, with extra strawberry cream. But I just ask to the
cook to give extra strawberry cream to this banana love boat, so I
send the order with extra strawberry cream into banana love boat,
after send the order she ask me where is my extra strawberry cream
so I’m telling her about the cream. I put some more inside your
banana love boat, but she want some more again with the bottle so I
go to kitchen and take the strawberry cream bottle and bring to her,
after she take the cream from the bottle she want the cream and ask
we to leaved, but I ask her to give back the cream because we want
to use this cream in the kitchen for the other ordered. But she
angry to me and want to complain me to Duty Manager. So I try to
give explain to her, but she don’t want to understand, after that
she ask me to go. So I go, after that every time I send the order to
her she don’t want to look at me but I just smile to her, but when
was they to check out I still send her order, they give tips money
and give a hand to me.
The
second time I also got a complain from the guest when I was midnight
shift, this guest is very-very hungry and calling room service and I
pick up the phone after that I ask him what his order, he want one
nasi goreng and one coke. I write his order, but he ask me how long
the order will be send, I ask him around 15 minutes, he look like
angry and he told no, no, no and hung up the phone, so I thing he
cancel his order. But I ask to my captain first what happened with
the guest jus now and he asks me to leave this problem and continue
your job. After 25
minutes this guest call again in room service and my captain was
pick up the phone, he want his order why never come after 25
minutes, I’m very hungry you know. He ask me who is pick up my
phone just now, and my captain say if he is Munir one of the my
staff. So, I go to kitchen and go to order. After 15 minutes I send
the order, before I give greeting to him, he angry to me and want to
complain me to the Duty Manager, because he saw my uniform and know
my name who was pick up his order just now. I try to explain and
apologize to him but he don’t care and ask me to call my captain,
so comedown and call my captain, after my captain come the trouble
is finish and the guest give tips money to my captain for me. I’m
not do mistake because I ask my captain before I leave his order.
