The E.E.R.S.S.A., it has the counties of Loja and Zamora Chinchipe like zone of concession, covering an extension approached of 31.500 Km2, being one of the old areas in the country.

They receive the service of electric power all the cantons of the counties of:

Generation

The Supply of energy to the Electric Regional System of the South, that is gotten of the central: hydroelectric Engineer Carlos Lives with a capacity installed of 2.400 kW and thermoelectric Catamayo with 19.735 kW of installed capacity, that they are operated for the Company, and for the contribution of the National Interconnected System (S.N.I.) operated by the INECEL.

In the year 1997, it was required in order to supply the system, 137.923 MWH of energy, of the who: 17.181 MWH was generated Engineer Carlos for the central hydraulics , representing the 12.45%, 13.313 MWH for the central thermal Catamayo that represents the 9.65%, and the contribution of the S.N.I. with 107.429 MWH that represents the 77.89% of the energy absorbed by the system.

The maximal demand of the system in the year of 1997 was from 34.160 kW, and the factor of load of 0,461 p.u. the appraisal of growth of the load is of the 7%.

Sub transmission.

To the level of 69 kV, 245,33 Km of lines of sub is had transmission that they serve to the county of Loja. To the level of 22 kV, a line of 16,08 Km is had that it interconnects the system with the central hydraulics Engineer Carlos.

The system is composed of 15 sub park with a capacity installed in transformers of capacity of 69,615 MVA, of the who, 52,625 MVA returns to sub park of distribution and 17,05 MVA to sub parks of central.

Distribution

The primary feeders of distribution, in a number of 35, they part of the bars of the sub park the levels of 22 13.8 kV, mainly triphasic and of radial type.

A construction of 3.408,3 Km in primary feeders is had, of the who: 785,8 returns line triphasic, 30,2 to biphasic and 2.592,7 to monophase.

The capacity installed in transformers of distribution is of 92.202,5 kVA, returning 73.879 18.323,5 to capacity monophase and triphasic. The factor of demand is of 0.37.

They are Installed a total of 6.576 transformers of distribution, of the who, 6.403 is monophase and 173 they are triphasics.

Is had installed in the system 19.306 stars with a capacity installed of 3.039 [kW]. From the total of stars, 78,75% it return to technology of mercury, 18,24% to sodium and 2,00% to other technologies. From the total of installed capacity, percentages of 72,48 are had %, 25,01% and 2,51% corresponding to the technologies of mercury, sodium and another.

Commercialization

The Company has 84.072 clients, with a percentage of electric supply of the 72%, serving to a population esteemed of 528.832 inhabitants.

From the total of clients, the 87,4% it return to the residential type, 7,8% to the commercial type, 1,3% to the industrial type and 3,5% to another.

The energy billed in 1997 was from 117.171 MWh, of the who, 58,7% it was billed to clients of residential type, 11,5% to commercial rate, 3,7% to industrial rate and 26,1% to other rates.

The total of income billed in 1997 was from S/. 35.145'634.209 (US$ 7'640.355), of the who, 64,2% it was billed to clients of residential type, 10,3% to the of commercial type, 4,3% to the of industrial type and 21,2% to another.

The half cost billed in 1997 was from 299,95 S/./ [kWh]. The half cost to the residential sector was from 327,7 S/./ [kWh], commercial sector 268,3 S/./ [kWh], industrial sector of 349,7 S/./ [kWh].

n 1997, the number of workers was from 420 workers (330 permanent and 90 occasional). The relationship client for worker was from 201.

Loss

 The losses totals of the system are in the order of the 15,31% with concerning the total energy of the system, returning 9,77% to technical loss and 5,54% to commercial loss or not technical.

In lines of sub transmission, a percentage of loss of 0,53 is had %, in transformers of capacity 1,06%, in primary feeders 3,49%, in transformers of distribution 2,66%, in secondary nets 0,73% and in attacking 1,29%.
