chapter 5 Allissa and Hayden had changed their schedules so that they could spend every waking hour of the day with each other. Allissa had begun to see the change in herself, and a new change in Hayden though she hadn't known him before. But the real test of a future love came, when the evening had arrived when Allissa was to meet Hayden's parents. Allissa wore a plain black dress and wore her hair down in curls. Hayden had delighted in her looks saying that he had never brought a girl home before quiet like Allissa. She wasn't sure how to take that, but she shrugged it off and tucked away her nervousness. "You okay?" Hayden kept his left hand on the steering wheel of his car, and his right hand holding Allissa's. Allissa exchanged her gaze from the car window to Hayden's gorgeous face, "Yeah, just a teeny bit nervous." she smiled. "Well, don't be. Mom and dad are great." Hayden gave Allissa an assuring look,"They'll love you. I promise." "I wish you could meet my parents." Allissa said, "They would have loved you." Hayden smiled, "Can I tell you something? Promise you won't slug me or anything?" Allissa laughed, "go ahead I won't slug you." Hayden rubbed his thumb across her hand, "Over these past few months, I have fallen....deeply in love with you. So deep that I'm drowning." Allissa gasped. No one had ever told her that. She was speechless. Grapsing for words but they wouldn't come. "Allissa I love you." Hayden smiled. Allissa felt a tear run down her cheek, "Hayden!" she fussed, "You're ruining my makeup." Hayden laughed, "How is that?" "Youre making me cry!" "Don't cry unless it's good tears." Hayden said. "They are good tears, believe me." she wiped away a tear, "Can I tell you something?" "Why not?" Allissa giggled, "I've already drowned in your love and there's no sign of me racing back to the surface." "Wow, so we're both in love with each other?" "It looks that way. Is that a bad thing?" "No, no. It's a wonderful thing." he replied as he pulled into the driveway of a fairly large house. The Christensen's house. All of Allissa's nervousness came back to her stomach as she prepared herself to meet his parents. |
