Did You Ever?
By Thai Williams

Did you ever love someone
And know that didn't care?
Did you ever feel like crying
And know you'd get nowhere?

Did you ever look into their eyes
And say a little prayer?
Did you ever look into their heart
And wish you were there?

Did you ever see them dancing
With the lights turned down low
Did you ever whisper "I love you"
But I'll never let them know?

And when it starts
You'll know
You'll wonder day and night
Because you see my friend
You're losing them
No matter how hard you fight

Life is fine but it hurts so much
The price you pay is high
If I could choose between life and love
I think I'd rather die

And so my friend, don't fall in love
You'll be hurt before you're through
You see, my friend
I fell in love with you

Somewhere in the Night
By Thai Williams

Somewhere in time
Somewhere in space
I knew where I was going
I thought I knew my place

There once was a day
I held you close to me
Living in your heart
Where I always longed to be

Used to have it all
Your arms is where I'd stay
The world at my doorstep
And I threw it all away

Now I'm on the road
Not knowing where this will end
I don't know where I'm going
Only knowing where I've been

Charleston, Baltimore
Always on the move
Of all the things I've got
One of them still ain't you

Tomorrows another town
Traveling still more miles
The most valuable baggage with me
Is the memory of your smile

Somewhere on the road
During the still of the night
My dreams will allow me
Again to hold you tight

I'll stare into the darkness
Without a word to say
Wipe away the tears
And try to hide the pain

Running Away
By Thai Williams

It all seemed so easy
The way that we met
Neither of us looking
Our hearts not mended yet

All that we needed
Was a way to deal with pain
Listening to each other
Both victims of the game

One night it happened
Two hearts became one
We laughed and we cried
The pain momentarily gone

We seemed a perfect fit
Nothing we couldn't do
A perfect love had formed
The love between me and you

During that space and time
Something went astray
I left without a warning
Nothing more to say

Frantically I searched
For another place and time
Not turning to look back
At the time when you were mine

Running from something
Not knowing where to go
Scared of a feeling
Not wanting to let it show

Now I sit here lonely
A writer lost in words
Recalling all the good times
And trying to hide how much it hurts

Waiting
By Thai Williams

The stars in the heavens
Lit up the night sky
He was waiting there for something
But he didn't know why
He had dreamed about this happening
So many times before
But this time seemed so real
Different from times before
He looked into the shadows
And saw her standing there
To be more than just friends
He knew he shouldn't dare
But her lips uttered the words
He'd always wanted to hear
"I love you" she said quietly
"Forever in my heart,
You'll always be there"
He looked into her eyes
And said "I love you too"
"You're so special to me
I'd give my life for you"
The night got cold
Wind whipped through his hair
He reached out to hold her
But she was no longer there
She'd gone back into the shadows
Untill another time
Knowing that she'd truly love him
Only in his mind
