The following question was asked on the survey:

“What do you think about building an online community of Apostates so that we could be stronger and perhaps one day bring the community into real life? In other words, become open about our apostasy like the homosexuals are open about their sexual orientation in some countries. We could start being open in countries like Canada and the USA.”

Here is the summary of the answers to the question:

After -> Respondents that filled in the survey after the survey results were posted on the Internet. They are separated as their responses may have been influenced by the responses of other respondents.

Before -> Respondents that filled in the survey before the results were put on the Internet.

These results CAN'T be generalized to the entire population of Apostates of Islam around the globe. Whether we survey people in a city or a nation, 1200 randomly selected participants will enable us to be 95% confident of describing the entire population with an error margin of 3% or less (Myers, 2002). The number of respondents to this survey is way below 1200!
