General Dynamics EX-07C Jaguar General Purpose Exo |
The
Jaguar is the direct descendant of the very first successful military Exo, the
Jaguar EX-07A. The current Jaguar has an improved computer, armor, weapons,
speed and engine over the original. However the basic layout, weapons
configuration and control systems are nearly identical to the first generation
Exo. In term of sheer numbers the Jaguar exists at nearly a 3-to-1 ratio to
all other Alliance Exo’s. Its familiar frame has become the Exo-Trooper
image most often associated with the Exo Pilot. The Jaguar is the staple
workhorse of the Military, it can be found in nearly every campaign, base,
instillation and unit. Several of the EX-07A’s and 07B’s that have been
retired from active service have been striped down and sold off to the private
sector, thus the average citizen is also familiar with the look and feel of
the Jaguar. The
success of the EX-07A lead to the development of all the other Alliance
Exo’s and remains the general template and milestone to which all other
designs are measured against. The Look of the Jaguar is somewhat
‘primitive’ when compared to the more refined designs of the other
Exo’s. Its broad square shoulder is reminiscent of football players, while
the armored sensor turret looks like it belongs on a tank. Despite its lack of
aesthetic value the Jaguars versatility is undeniable. During the first Exo
campaigns the Jaguar was pressed into all manner of service. Its armor was
stripped down and its electronics upgraded to function as a scout-recon unit.
It has also had its armor increased, its weapons payload maximized and been
assigned tank hunter duties. A testament to the Jaguars versatility and
flexibility, now all these specialized rolls have their own unique Exo’s
specially built while the reliable Jaguar could simply be modified and
assigned those duties. The
key to the initial success of the Jaguar, and thusly all other Exo’s, is its
modular design and ease of repair. The Jaguar was designed so that all its
armor plates could easily be removed and replaced with a minimum of equipment
and time. The internal structure was standardized; so all Jaguars could have
their parts used in each other. This allowed repair crews in the field to
cannibalize critically damaged Jaguars for replacement parts. Further to that
is the rugged computer and control system. The Jaguar has the most rugged and
reliable control systems and computer interfaces of all the Exo’s, something
that has evolved over the course of its life. The
computer system of the Jaguar is also one that has posed the most puzzling
question of all. Since the Jaguar has been active the longest of all Alliance
Exo’s it is the first to display signs of computer personalities. The
advanced computer control system of the Exo is based on a highly adaptive
learning matrix. The more the computer is used the better and more efficient
it becomes, or that was the idea. While this is very true, the more
experienced computers react better and more swiftly then there off the
assembly line counterparts, they have also begun to display the most variation
in ‘personality’. As each computer grows new interconnection and learns
better ways to perform action there is a tendency to take on the most obvious
personality traits of the pilot they are assigned to. Several
pilots have reported that their Exo has begun to react on its own to sensor
information the pilot has not absorbed yet. That they seem to be developing
‘instincts’ of their own about situations, location, scenarios and alike.
One female officer walked by a idling Jaguar while its pilot was outside the
control cockpit and reported that the machine seemed to track her movements on
its own. In her statement she reported that the machine made a high pitched
whine through its electronic suite that sounded a little too much like a
‘Wolf Whistle” and that she swore that the Jaguars main sensor camera
blinked one of its iris’s like a man winking. What made this all that much
more interesting is that the pilot who commands that particular Exo is a
well-known womanizer and self-styled ladies-man. He has been warned more then
once not to make lewd whistles and action toward females on base. While
some of the developing personality traits are less then desirable there is
evidence of helpful action or premonitions the Exo seems to have. Literally
thousands of reports state how their Exo reacted to an unseen threat and
protected the pilot or squad from danger. Some reports state that the Exo
refused to move forward to the point it actually shorted out its own
electronics. During the repair of the apparent malfunction a technical
discovered the presence of an anti-tank mine laying beneath the soil only a
few feet ahead of the squad. Other times the sensor turret has been known to
suddenly turn to the left or right on its own, as if reacting from something
in the peripheral. Some pilots have reported that the small antenna cluster on
the side of the Jaguars sensor turret actually moves to depict boredom,
interest and surprise. Many skeptics dismiss these habits as control
malfunctions and design flaws, but the Intelligence Divisions and Research and
Development are very interested in these emerging personalities. The
service record of the Jaguar is very extensive, having served in almost every
major and minor military skirmish since the mid 1970’s. The Jaguar has
served with distinction in almost every military role conceivable from
Anti-Aircraft unit to Urban Warfare. The success of the Jaguar has not been
restricted to the battlefield. Those older units that have been sold off to
the private sector have turned up in almost every conceivable industry. Many
of the larger police stations, FBI, NSA, ATF, CIA and Swat teams have acquired
Jaguar Exo’s for use in their assorted operations. An honor guard of Exo’s
is stationed around every major diplomatic facility, embassy, and function.
The White House itself is protected and patrolled by several Jaguars. Military
manufacturers have developed their own security team of Exo’s to guard their
interests. The only restriction placed on privately operated Exo’s is that
they must be registered with the Department of Motor Vehicles, the pilots must
be Exo-Licensed and that Heavy Weapons are forbidden. Privately owned and
operated units (such as private security forces and demolitions/construction)
are restricted to Light and Ultra Light type weapons. Although a few have
fallen into the hands of criminals, their access to heavier weapons is
severely restricted. Punishment of an illegal Exo is severe. Punishment for an
illegal Exo with heavy weapons is worse. The
current Jaguar has very similar looks to its predecessors. Like all the
Jaguars it has large thick shoulder giving it the look of a football player.
Its armor usually has an army designation painted on it. The upper torso of
the Jaguar is stocky and well protected. The powerful legs of the Jaguar have
large flat armored panels on the calves where pilots can store secondary
equipment. The forearms of the Jaguar are often modified with grenade clips,
this in turn frees up the two hard points on its hip plates. A standard issue
Vibro-Blade is stored on the rear armor plate when not in use, this plate is
often joking called the Butt-Plate. The last notable feature of the Jaguar it
the engine, located on the back of the machine it is the largest single piece
of equipment the Exo carries. The engine is a Pratt & Whitney 730S, able
to supply high torque and power to the Jaguar. For its size the Jaguar is one
of the strongest (physically) Exo created, able to tow twice its own weight
(the unit has two-toeing hooks located in its back), usually in the form of
equipment and combat gear. G.M.’s Note: Almost all-playing character who pilot Exo’s should be assigned the Jaguar to begin with. Promotion to other types should be used as a reward for game play. |

** Destroying the head of the power armor will eliminate all forms of optical enhancement and sensory systems. The pilot must rely on his own human vision and senses. No power armor combat bonuses to strike, parry, and dodge! The head is a small and difficult target to hit, it can only be hit when a character makes a ‘called shot’, and even then the attacker is –3 to strike.
*** Deleting the S.D.C. of the main body will shut the armor down completely, making it useless. In emergency release system allows the pilot to escape the Exo if the main body is destroyed, and they survive. However most Exo’s do not have any storage area for food, armor or weapons. Therefore, unless otherwise noted, the pilot must rely on their own sidearm and any armor they were wearing when piloting the Exo. |
Speed: |
||
Running: | ![]() |
45.0 mph (72.0 km) maximum. Note that the act of running does not tire the operator and the Exo’s top speed can be maintained indefinitely, only the pilots own fatigue will limit the duration of the unit’s movements. The Jaguar walks at a more reasonable speed of 26.0 mph (41.6 km), and should be considered the units cruising speed. |
Leaping: | The powerful robot legs can leap up to 18 feet (5.8 m) high and 10 feet (3.2 m) across from a standing position. A running jump increases the distance to 36 feet (11.6 m) long and 10 feet (3.2 m) high.
Underwater: | The Exo can swim using the same type of paddling leg and arm motion as a human at a maximum speed of roughly 4 mph (6.4 km/3.4 knots). It can also walk along the bottom of the sea at about 25% its normal running speed.

|
Range (Per tank of Fuel): | The
battery provides enough energy for 10 hour of regular
maneuvers or 5 hours of moderate combat maneuvers. Heavy
combat maneuvers will use the batters charge in 2.5
hours. The Turbine engine must then be activated to
either recharge the battery or directly power the Exo.
The 730S will provide the Exo with direct energy for 36
hours of moderate use before needing refueling. Heavy
use will consume the fuel supply in 20 hours. Recharging
the battery to full capacity takes 1.5 hours (4 hours if
on the move). All Exo’s use an advanced Turbine Engine
that can burn any gasoline derivative fuel, including
automobile gasoline, aircraft and marine fuel and even
diesel without ill effect. However all non-Exo fuel
reduces the operation abilities (range, speed, duration)
by 25%. Only Exo Fuel will allow the unit to function at
100% efficiency. |

Weapon Name: | ![]() |
Special Notes: |
General Dynamics 20mm Light Assault Cannon | Extra ammo-clips can be mounted on the hip hard points of most Exo’s.
Raytheon Company 50mm Light Rocket Pack | The normal payload of the Jaguar is 24 rockets. But the same launcher can
handle a maximum of 32 rockets. If all 32 are loaded
into the launcher reduce the Jaguar’s bonuses to
strike, parry and dodge by –1 from the unbalanced
weight of the extra rockets. Once the rocket payload has
been reduced to 24 or less the penalty is removed. |
|
Grumman & Saco Defense Light Hand Grenade | The Jaguar normally carries 3 Light Grenades strapped to the arm that
carried the main gun. The free hand can then reach over
and use the grenade without disturbing the grip on the
weapon. |
|
Remington Industries 45mm Anti-Personnel Grenade Launcher
General Electric Vibro-Blade
Hand To Hand Combat | Rather than use a weapon, the pilot can
engage in hand to hand combat. See Basic and Elite Power
Armor Combat Training for combat bonuses. |
|
Sensor System Note: | The Jaguar has full optical systems, including laser targeting,
telescopic, passive nightvision (light amplification),
thermo-imaging, infrared, ultraviolet, and polarization.
Plus all the other features common to all Exo’s. |
|
Sensor Bonuses: | The Jaguar gets a bonus of +1 to strike, and +1 to parry and dodge in addition to the power armor target bonus and Basic or Elite Power Armor Combat Training bonuses. |
