The Rules

These are the rules. If you don't follow them, we reserve the right to block you from our boards, give your character detention, or take points from your house. Please follow these, they're just here to ensure this RPG is fun and canon.

Board Rules

1. No swearing, mocking, flaming, or insults. Harsh penalties, including banning, will arise for those who break this rule.
2. Impersonations WILL GET YOU REMOVED!!!
3. Please respect the Administration and all their decisions. If you bother them they make life difficult for you. ("Wow, I can't imagine what it would be like to have a difficult life." - Harry Potter)
4. OOC Boards are NOT a dating service for you OR your character.
5. NO SPAMMING!
6. If a thread is addressed to a certain person, do NOT post in it without previous consent to do so. It's extremely rude and inconsiderate.
7. When posting in IC boards, make sure any OOC comments are inside double parentheses.
8. Please, do NOT advertise ANY website on our boards without special permission. This is grounds for expulsion and removal from the game.
9. Most importantly, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, show respect to your fellow RPers, they make it possible!
10. Each player is granted THREE characters, and with extra special permission four.
11. There will be ABSOLUTELY, POSITIVELY, NO GOD-MODING!!! Clear?? I take this one VERY seriously.
12. Please avoid one-liners (except for Quidditch matches). If at ALL possible, please gives us at LEAST 2-3 lines of role play.

Original Character Rules

1. Original characters are supposed to be original and uniques. DO NOT copy ANY character information from any type of media (books, television shows, movies, comics) that you have seen or read.
2. Original characters may NOT make non-canon claims such as being half-blood hobbit. That's just... stupid, if you want to know the truth.
3. Original characters may not have the same first or last name as important characters, or one's with odd names such as Albus Dumbledore for that matter.
4. In the Harry Potter world, special gifts such as the Animagus ability, healing powers, prophetic dreams, Fillimency, they are EACH extremely RARE. And so, to be canon, only those with extreme talent as writers may have these roles. Who has extreme talent? That's for the admin to decide. If you need to know about your character having a gift such as this, please, PM them and let them decide.
5. Peculiar heritage's are handled the same as a talent or ability. There will be no half-veela or werewolf students unless approved by the administrator.
6. Your characters personality and background should be accurate to their house. Muggleborn softies do NOT belong in Slytherin. Likewise, caniving cowards do NOT belong in Gryffindor. And stupid brutes do NOT belong in Ravenclaw. And finally, evil, mud"blood" (pardon the French) haters do NOT belong in Hufflebuff.
7. Characters may only play Quidditch through accepted applications, so PLEASE, do not make such claims on your character's biography. That too is stupid. You may write what position they would prefer to play if they could, but not that they do.
8. Hogwarts students all come from the UK. I promise they do. And I have never seen a transfer student, or an eight year old at Hogwarts anywhere in the books. Since Hogwarts doesn't accept Chinese 9 yr. olds that come from some other wizarding school, we won't either.
9. Hogwarts has a dress code, so we expect that each of YOUR characters follow it. There will be no excessive piercings, unusual hair colors, tattoos, or habits such as drinking and drugs. For the sake of certain events, and plots, we may at one point allow a few of things to a few people that a few Administrators will give permission to.
10. Unusual physical features, such as eyes that change colour with mood, or hair that changes colour with weather, or odd scars that just HAPPEN to be a perfect map of Hogsmeade, will NOT be permitted.

School Rules

1. No underage smoking, drinking, sexual relations, being out of grounds without permission and being out of bed after hours. Any student that is will lose house points and recieve detention.*
2. School uniform must be worn EXCEPT on scheduled Hogsmeade weekends, weekend holidays, and scheduled Holidays, and while in the common rooms/dormitories.
3. Using magic in the corridors will result in severe punishment.*
4. The usage of Dark Arts will cause your student to be expelled unless under teacher direction.*
5. Do NOT duel, hit, curse, or hex ANYONE. Failure to comply will result in House point loss and detentions. Attacking a staff member in any manner will result in more extensive punishment and, potentially, expulsion.*
6. You must not enter any Common Room apart from your own. Additionally boys may not enter the dormitories of female students; any attempt to do so will trip the school’s defensive charms.
7. Do not enter the Forbidden Forest without expecting to be caught, hurt or even killed.*
8. Only 3rd years and above may visit Hogsmeade.* 9. No first year may bring a broomstick to school unless they have, by some miracle, been assigned to their house Quidditch team.

*Please note that these rules may be bent for the sake of plots that have been pre-approved by the Administration, or events that have been set up by the administration.
