Disclaimer & Other Stuff
First, I am not Carla Overbeck. I'm not sure how confusion about this arises, but it does. I've gotten plenty of e-mails to that effect. I am a big fan as so many of you are and I thought it was important for there to be a page dedicated to her. I know that many other Carla Overbeck sites have lots of pictures and are more of a visual experience. I like getting information when I go to websites and thus my Carla site is more content oriented. (As is the rest of my website. A little exploring will probably definitively show that I'm not Carla.)
I don't have pictures because short of "borrowing" them from news and other sites, which isn't exactly legal unless you have permission, even if you give proper credit, I don't have access to any interesting or unique photos. I don't know if Carla has an official site. If she does, I certainly haven't found it yet. And I would love to know about it if it's out there. I have never met Carla. I have seen her play in person, of course, but that's about as close as I've gotten. Therefore, I cannot procure autographed jerseys and T- shirts from her. The only thing I can suggest is getting out to one of their games and asking for one personally. My understanding (culled from news reports and interviews) is that she is retiring after the Sydney 2000 Olympics. I'm not sure how easy it will be after that to get an autograph. OtherThe site is not updated frequently:I am insanely busy (law school) so this site is probably not going to be updated too often. Usually, I get some time or a need to procrastinate once every three months and the page gets all caught up, but there's no guarantee. I try to stay up on big events like the Olympics, but that doesn't always work out. So if it's out of date, I already know.Soccer tips:Obviously not being Carla, whatever soccer tips I could give have very little authority and credibility behind them so I won't give any out because I can't ask Carla and no one wants them from me.
E-mail:I do not have Carla's e-mail address. I wish that I did so that I could forward all the e-mails I've recieved for her. I have a couple of suggestions: The USSF web site: Carolina Courage mailing address: Carolina Courage
Autographs:See my comments above. That all said, I do like constructive comments and suggestions, but I don't always have time to consider and implement. And I love corrections, but not insults--I know my sources are occasionally wrong.
