Last weekend, we went to visit my oldest sister. It's really cool because on weekend nights, there's this thing they have by the river, with laser lights and music. (the music is bad but that's ok)
The coolest part about the whole thing though, is that along the river they've landscaped and put in sculptures and benches, and these fountains in this special sidewalk area where water shoots out periodically and sporadically. So all the kids play in it. Some even come prepared in their bathing suits.
We were just going to find a spot to sit to watch the lasers, but I had to go over to where everyone was playing in the water. There were probably 10 kids running all around, some of them soaked.
And I'm standing there, and hear a little voice go, "watch this!"
I looked down to see a little girl, probably four years old and very tiny, looking at me. So I go, "okay, I'm watching."
And she just starts running on her tip toes, kind of hopping through the area where the water comes up, then turns around and does it back. It was so cute. When she got back, I said, "Wow, that was really great! Did you get wet?"
"Yep! Now you come with me!"
I couldn't tell her no, so I ran through the water with her, trying not to care that I was getting wet. I got through relatively dry. I stood there for a little bit longer, watching her some more. Then when she came back, I told her I was going to go find my family now.
"Okay! Bye"
"Bye!" And I waved at her and walked back to all us 'adults', or whatever, with the hugest smile on my face.
You can say a lot of things about kids, but I can say mostly only good things.
