Grand Movie Theater In War

Movie Memories And 10-cent Tickets

"When we were young, my brother Commodore and I would go around looking for scrap metal to sell to have enough money to buy the ten-cent tickets to get into movies."

Told by: Frank Cyphers

I remember my mom talking about the movie theater in War. The first movie she ever saw was Disney's 'Snow White & The Seven Dwarfs'. I don't know what year that movie first came out, though.

I also remember my mom saying that when she was young, she and her siblings were taught that going to the movies was a sin. When they would walk to town, their moms would make them cross to the other side of the street to avoid walking too closely to the theatre building.
