ROGER DAVIDSON 1806-1875
AND HIS DESCENDANTS

Roger was born 19 April 1806 and baptised 27
April 1806 at Golden Square Presbyterian Church, Berwick upon Tweed.
In about 1830, he married Jean/Jane Bertram who was the daughter of William
Bartram and Elizabeth Smith.
She was born 22 April 1808 in the parish of Stobo in Peebleshire, Scotland.
In 1834 Roger and Jean emigrated to New York.
They crossed the Atlantic on a new sail boat, " the Berwick upon Tweed "
which took thirteen weeks to reach Montreal, Canada. From there, they
presumably reached New York by land.

Roger died on 11 May 1875 in Plainfield, New
Jersey and was buried in Greenwood Cemetery, New York on 13 May 1875.
Jean died 6 April 1857 in New York and was interred in Greenwood Cemetery on
10 April 1857.

Roger and Jean had seven children:
1. James born before 1834 in Scotland.
He married Elsie Baverstock/Bavistock and there were no children to this
marriage.
James may be buried in the same grave as his
parents at Greenwood Cemetery, New York. Burial date 3 March 1873.

2. Elizabeth born 5 February 1833 and baptised 17 February at Golden Square
Presbyterian Church, Berwick upon Tweed.
She married Stephen Eugene Kirby c.1855, possibly in New York. He was born
c.1830 in New York City.
Elizabeth died 13 January 1912 in New York City.

2. Frederick E born c.1858 in New York. Did not marry.
3. Mary S born c.1860 in New York. She married Thomas J Knowles.

She married Eric Nicholas Erickson c.1867, probably in New York. He was born
1844 in Norway.
Delia died 6 January 1925, probably in New Jersey and Eric died before 1900
in New York/New Jersey.
Delia and Eric had four children:
1. Jean Bertram born c.1868. She married 1. James Hallcock, 2. Henry Hall.
2. Julius E born May 1870 in New York. He married Ida L Haywood c. 1896 in
New Jersey, she was bornc.1872 in New Jersey. They had son Julius K born
March 1900 in New Jersey.
3. Roger W born June 1872 in New York.
4. Eric N born August 1879 in New Jersey.
