JANE DAVIDSON 1836-1914

Jane was born on the 15 November 1836 in
Rockland, New York.
She married Cornelius V Anderson Sr. on the 28 December 1858 in New York.
He was the son of James Anderson and Jane King and was born 19 April 1835 in
New York.
Cornelius was mainly employed in the hotel and restaurant trade and was in
fact proprietor of the " Continental Hotel "
at the time of the great Chicago fire in 1871.
Jane died 1 January 1914 in Iowa and Cornelius died 15 May 1895 in
Davenport, Scott, Iowa.
Jane and Cornelius had eight children:
1. Cornelius V Jr born about October 1858 and died one month after birth,
about 25 November 1858.

Jane Elizabeth
born 9 June 1859 in Williams, Brooklyn, Kings, New York. She married Fred
Genslinger before 1894 in Iowa.

3. Eleanor born 6 May 1860 in New York and died 4 July 1888 in Chicago,
Cook, Illinois as a result of an accident.

She married Charles Francis Kent on 9 May 1893 in Davenport, Scott, Iowa.

6. Benjamin N Sr born 25 September 1867 in New Jersey.
He married Madge Van Pelt on the 16 March 1897 in possibly Cook, Chicago,
she was born about
25 December 1874 in Louisiana.
Benjamin conducted an insurance business in Chicago until 1951. In his
retirement he lived in LaJolla, California.
Benjamin died 2 October 1959 in either Illinois or California.
Benjamin and Madge had three children:
1. Margaret
2. Benjamin N Jr born about 17 December 1904 in Illinois - probably Lyons,
LaGrange, Cook County.
3. Roger VanPelt born about 8 January 1908.

7. Cornelia V born 8 April 1871 in Chicago and died 5 November 1941 in
DeWitt, Clinton, Iowa.
Cornelia did not marry. She was a school teacher and lived with her mother
until her death and then with her sister Jane.
Then in 1930 she is found living with her sister Elizabeth in DeWitt.
She was active, with many
friends and involved with the church.
Enjoying family and friends was her major activity after retirement.

8. Frederick Eugene born 16 February 1873 in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois.
He married Arianna Lorton after 1910.
According to census reports, Frederick was a Doctor/Surgeon.
