Alas...
~By

When morning arrived Dasa
woke up very early as he usually did, and found the two lovers
squeezing each other while they sleep. 'I can’t do it…they look
happy. Is not fair when they’ve been so good to me…but if I don’t…'
Keshi moved and stretched his
arms before standing up from the bed. He yawned and sat up rubbing
his eyes. “Good morning, Dasa, did you sleep well?”
“Yes sir.”
“Don’t call me sir, just Keshi.
You must be starving, you know how to cook?”
“Yes.”
“Then help me out to prepare
something for us.”
“Ok, what do you have?”
“Let’s see…we can make bread,
a fruit salad, and there are some carrots for Kalkin, and me. You
like them?”
“Very much, but never get to
eat them. Where do you get them?”
“I sowed them.”
“How do they grow this big and
with this weather?” Dasa said when Keshi handed him a few.
“That is Lal’s magic.”
“Is he…your boyfriend?” Keshi
blushed with his question and nod. “You are lucky.”
“You think?”
“Yes.”
“You are right.” Keshi smiled
pleased by the young man’s words about his dear Lal.
“No one loves me…”
Keshi looked down at the sad
little boy and remembered Lal. He was just like him, small and
innocent with so much need to be loved. “You’ll find love one day.”
“No I won’t…I’ll be a slave
forever.”
“You know…I used to feel the
same way, that I will always be alone, but now I have Lal. He showed
me what love is…someday you’ll find someone like Lal.” Keshi smiled
to him and wiped the small tear the boy had on his cheek. “Come on,
let’s wake up my lazy friends and forget about that…you made it this
far, why not all the way?” Dasa felt even worse to know he must
steal Keshi’s love to save his miserable life and then sit in silence
in the same corner he slept in, staring at Keshi. “Lal…my love. Wake
up, baby…Lal…you lazy little, haada! Wake up!!”
“Keshi! I want to sleep…don’t
you know fairies sleep till late.” He tried covering his ears with
his hands.
“Since when?”
“Since I made my ritual of
laziness.”
“Well beloved one, those days
are over.” Keshi kissed him and tickled him so he would finally wake
up. “Come on, we have a guest.”
“Ok…he must think I’m sleeping
all day and night.”
“You are.”
“Hey!” Lal playfully jumped to grab
Keshi by the neck but with his playful fight managed to fall on the floor
almost hitting young Dasa. “Oh! I’m sorry, kid.”
Dasa opened his eyes when he
saw Lal’s naked body completely exposed before him with his legs
spread apart provoking his cheeks to turn red. “You…you are not
wearing any clothes!” He was drooling when he saw how gorgeous he
was and how lovely his skin seemed. He never imagined such a
beautiful creature could exist. 'He is marvelous!'
“Lal! Get dressed! You will
frighten our guest!” Keshi goofed at him, but Lal dressed
immediately using his fairy powers. “You see why he wasn’t dressed?
I hate his clothing, he looks like a fool with all those flowers…I
like him naked better.”
“KESHI! He is just a kid!”
'I guess you are so right!
Don’t blame you…if I was you I’ll have him naked all day.'
“So are you.”
“I’m not! I’m older than you!”
“As a fairy, but if when
you're a human what is an approximate equivalent age you should
have? You are younger, right? What are you, 14, 15?”
“In human years…I must be like
16…don’t know. How old are you Dasa?”
“17”
“Really? You look like 14.”
“oh...!”
“Hey,don’t listen to him, he
is just jealous ‘cause you are older than him.” Keshi winked at Dasa
and then shook Kalkin. “Are you alive? You’ve been static like
forever!” Kalkin lifted his head and ate Keshi’s carrots. “Hey! You
little thief!” Keshi laughed and hugged his dear Kalkin then laid on
his back.
“I love this place…you are all
so cheerful and playful. You all look so happy.” Young Dasa always
dreamed of a family, but thought it was impossible to even imagine
that maybe someone was happy on the world he lived in. “I though
everyone was unhappy.”
“Well…we have problems, but
try to go on…if you came here yesterday…you wouldn’t say the same. I
was a real jerk yesterday…today I woke up…HAPPY!” Keshi grabbed his
little love and bit his lips softly. “Thanks to you my love.” He
held him for a few minutes rubbing his nose on Lal’s hair then
looked back at Dasa. “Would you take care of him while I’m gone? I
have to get ourselves a new blanket or we’ll die for sure. My Lal is
very fragile so take good care of him, will ya?”
“Sure…should I watch Kalkin
too?”
“No, he is coming with me.
He’ll help with the load.” Keshi left a few minutes later to sell
some of
the vegetables Lal'd had helped grown or trade them for a new cover.
He had no idea that he'd left Lal in danger.
“Now…what you do all day,
pretty boy?” Dasa felt bored since he had nothing to do, and was
used to hard work and being there just talking to Lal was too weird
for him.
“I fly around and make flowers
and trees grow. I’m a fairy you know.”
“But fairies are small,
right?”
“I know…I can be small. Want
to see?”
“Yes.” 'This is my chance.'
After Lal turned into a fairy, Dasa trapped him into the web Vritra
gave him, it possessed powers that make little Lal faint
immediately. “Forgive me Lal.” Dasa closed the door and left running
as fast as he could to get back with Vritra. 'Forgive me Keshi…I
didn’t mean it.' After some time, Dasa made it back to the palace
where Vritra waited impatiently. “Master Vritra…I brought him to
you.” Dasa gave Vritra the web with little Lal inside.
“Where is he?”
“He is a fairy master, but he
can also be human.”
“Good work Dasa, I knew you
wouldn’t fail me. Go get something to eat as reward.”
“Thank you my master.” Dasa
left to the kitchen ashamed of his actions and gave his food to
another slave- he felt he didn’t deserved it.
“Now that I got Keshi’s lover
he would gave the alas in exchange! Finally the world would be
mine!” Vritra laughed thinking of his evil plans.

Keshi made it back home with
Kalkin, smiling for getting what he wanted for Lal. “Lal! Baby, I
got you something! Lal! Lal where are you?” Keshi went outside to
see if he was on the flowers but he wasn’t there founding the potion
Vritra gave to Lal. “What is this?” Keshi opened it and smell it but
throw it to the ground since it smelt so bad, then he noticed how
where the liquid fell the plants died. 'Oh no!' “Lal! LAL WHERE ARE
YOU??? Lal!!!” Keshi was beginning to worry a lot; it was not like
Lal to just disappear. “Kalkin…he’s not here! Where could he be?”
Keshi stepped on something hard and looked down; it was the amulet
he gave to Lal. “Something’s definitely wrong. Look Kalkin, it’s my
gift to Lal. Do you think…DASA! Oh no, I’m such a fool! He surely
stole my Lal…he fooled me and I…I lost Lal to him…if only I was more
careful…if I hadn't of listened to Lal when he asked me to trust
others. Lal!!!” Keshi screamed as loud as he could but there was no
response from his beloved one. “LAL!! Come back…” Keshi jumped
quickly to Kalkin’s back and asked him to take him to the river.
“Maybe he went there…” Keshi wished for Lal to be at the river, but
deep down knew he was gone. They looked for him everywhere but
didn’t found him anyplace. “Lal…Kalkin, take me to Ahriman! No, I’m
not crazy! Go now! He surely got Lal and I won’t let him take Lal
from me. He won’t kill my beloved, he won’t.” Kalkin obeyed Keshi’s
command and went to find Ahriman, now outside Ahriman’s hideout
Keshi screamed like crazy demanding Ahriman to face him and gave Lal
back to him. “AHRIMAN!!! AHRIMAN!!! Come out you coward! Give Lal
back now or you’ll pay for it! Ahriman!!!”
