IN SLICES
As wide as Kowalskis stage-repertory
is this of CD's as well. From Händel via Schubert to filmhits of
the Thirties, Kowalskis ability to change his roles can be
admired. - Here comes a little survey.
Most of the Solo-CD's are published by CAPRICCIO, a label of EMI.
Some of those are takeovers of former GDR-Productions. In
addition there're numerous samplers of
others (often belonging to DELTA Music) Music-Publishers, to
which Kowalski is represented. Therefore there is the table at
the next page, which probably isn't complete. Finally there're
some videos, listed at the very end.

(1998)
For the future Kowalski plans Winterreise by Schubert.
There is a CD with Operetta-Melodies already
recorded. It contains songs like 'Schatz, ich bitt' dich, komm heut'
Nacht' from Frasquita by Lehár and is probably reminding us of Kowalskis 'Slaughterhouse-Times' (see
Biographical notes) which could be
understood as a hommage to his parents.
FROM THE PAST:
With a little luck you may be able to get hold of some old LP's (SP's; GDR-Productions). There is, for example, Kowalski's excursion to the pop music from 1989, which, not last due to the political changes going on around this time, is relativly unknown. The song has been made 'immortalised' on an LP (AMIGA) with the title 'POP PROJEKT - Dance Dance Dance'.
On the occasion of the 750th anniversary of Berlin another LP was
recorded (ETERNA) including 'Arien aus der Berliner
Operngeschichte' (Arias from Berlin Opera-History). This one is quite interesting because it was, as far as I know, Kowalskis first LP. In 1994 it was published under the label BERLIN CLASSICS, and now often sold as a CD.
The LP 'Lehn deine Wang an meine Wang - Perlen der Tonkunst' was published by CAPRICCIO with the title 'Plaisir d'amour'
(originally recorded in 1988).
But also recordings of the Komische Oper Berlin, in which
Kowalski participated, like 'L'Allegro, il Penseroso ed il
Moderato' (1987, ETERNA - now published by BERLIN CLASSICS as
well), are still on the market.
- For lovers of Vinyl-acoustic or fans aand collectors the motto
is - come to Berlin's flea markets where you can find it all.
