HOBBIES My biggest hobby is music. I play eleven different instruments at any given time. Know what all of them are? Let's see if you do: guitar, bass, drums, mandolin, Irish bouzouki, bodhran, hammered dulcimer, mountain dulcimer, banjimer, banjo and cittern. If you knew of more than eight of those before today, you get a gold star. I use most of them to play in a music group with my family. My mother is one of the best hammered dulcimer players in the country, my sister is a dynamite fiddler, and my dad is the self-proclaimed "best left-handed bodhran player in the Southwest," probably because he is the only one to have that distinction. The group is called The Next Chapter. (Page, chapter...get it? I thought it creative) Anyway, we play around town many places, as well as have done some decent touring throughout the Southwest playing Celtic, old-time and bluegrass music, with a little bit of a twist thrown in here and there. After all, my roots are in rock music. (I'm sure Professor F can applaud that on some level) I helped to put together a band in 2002 called SO3 that actually won the Rio Rancho Battle of the Bands earlier this year (2004), and then subsequently disbanded. Ah, you've gotta love the music biz, right? Other than that, my main hobby is my girlfriend. Wish I had a picture to show you, but alas, Sarah (my GF) is sensitive to being plastered in unnecessary places around the Internet. So let's just say she's great. Anything else you want to know you'll have to worm out of me. (which shouldn't be too hard) |
