Columbia Pictures recently screened a 15-minute trailer, or rather a collection of scenes, from its forthcoming CGI epic, Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within. The movie has gone well over its $75 million budget but after witnessing the jaw-dropping trailer, the money certainly has been well spent.

Sony and Vodafone, the world's largest mobile phone company, announced yesterday that they had signed an alliance for a long-term partnership in building mobile phone games. Sony also recently signed 6 other overseas mobile carriers (in US, Japan, Europe, Hong Kong, and Taiwan) to develop technology linking their mobile phones to the PSX. "..Vodafone['s] agreement will allow its customers to connect mobile handsets to Sony's PlayStation consoles, and receive tips on the games via text messages or the wireless internet." So far, available games are fairly simplistic considering today's network speeds.
