Imperials on a Smaller Scale |
The '49 Crown Imperial Limouisine to the right is Small Wheels #23. A very fine 1/43rd scale white metal replica in dark green, also available in black. Small Wheels is a division of Western Models of England. |
Shown above is a 1951 Imperial convertible, model #79 from the Brooklin Collection. There are more of these 1/43rd scale models than there are of the actual car it represents, which is quite rare. Brooklin also offers this as a limited edition in cream, with a tan top. |
Ah, my favorite Imperial! Above is a 1/43rd scale 1955 Newport in West Point Gray by USA Models of California (model #2). A beautifully detailed model, down to the rear-mounted air conditioning system and factory chrome wire wheels. USA has done this car in several other colors and it is now obsolete. |
To the left we have Conquest Models of Holland's #6 1957 Crown 4 door Southhampton in Ruby Metallic over Mist Gray. A quality hand-built replica, also done in Parade Green over white, and gold over charcoal. |
Another 1/43rd scale Imperial from The Brooklin Collection #67 is this 1961 Custom 2-door Southhampton in Pinecrest (or is it Pinehurst?) Green. Brooklin really captured the unique Virgil Exner styling in this gem of a model. In the photo on the right, the model is shown pulling a 1958 Shasta Airflyte trailer, also from The Brooklin Collection. |
