Rescue Me
  • October 2004: I went to the Mid Atlantic Rally ( Rally Photos ). Approximately 130 miles each way. We had a small muffler problem on the way down (been putting off getting that replaced just about 2 days too long). However, a fire department colleague in Orange, VA turned me on to a local mechanic that sorted me out in a jiffy for the right price. My best guess at fuel mileage is that I was getting about 17 MPG - and that is before I figured in the 10% delta for the oversized tires. See the Rally section for more photos and information.

  • May 2005: Just got back from the ROAV Spring Rallye. I am still working on getting the page updated.
  • June 2005: I am a little behind on my State Safety inspection - never enough time in the day to get things done. I sorted out a few turn signal issues last month. Now I need to replace the horn as it has blown its last toot.

Alas - things have gotten away from me and it is time to think about selling the Land Rover. I am working to tidy up the last few open projects on it and am starting to show it to perspective new owners....

I just installed a new parcel tray on the dash to replace the one that was damaged from the previos owner's radio installation.

  • July 2005: Lot of little jobs planned for this weekend. Three folks have contact me about buying the Land Rover. We will see who actually shows up...

  • August 2005: The Land Rover has been sold - twice now. It lives up in South Dakota with a new enthusiastic owner.
