Ways Bay Drive is located in Keswick on the east shore of Lake Simcoe, which makes it favorable for winds ranging from south, west to north. The water does not become deep until further away from shore, which makes it a great site for beginners and learning beach starts.

There is a free parking lot which currently has a total of 19 parking spaces (17 for the general public, 2 more for the handicapped, and 2 more for emergency access vehicles that you can't use). On warm summer days, the lot fills up fast. You can park on the street but obey the no parking signs as they are often enforced. Parking fines can be about $20. If the winds are up and it isn't a warm summer day, the place can still be filled with wind surfers.

You can get there by driving north on highway 404 to the end which is Davis Drive. Turn right (east) at the lights on Davis Drive, then left (north) on highway 8 (Woodbine Avenue), most of your drive will be at 80km/h. You'll pass Shawneeki Golf Club on your right (east). You'll pass a Zehrs and a McDonalds on your left (west) just as you get in to Keswick. If it's summer, the washrooms are open at Keswick. If it's winter, you might want to stop here for the washroom.

Keep going until you get to the Canadian Tire. Turn left (west) at the lights on to Pollock Road or Highway 78. Follow the road over the hill. Watch the speed, it's only 60km/h here. There's a church straight ahead of you. There's a Petro Can service station on your right. There's a car dealership on your immediate right. Go straight through (north) at the lights on to Metro Road.

At the next street called Cooks Bay Drive, turn left (west), and the next street left (south) called Ways Bay Drive. Follow the street around the Church to the right (west) and you'll see Lake Simcoe in front of you at the end of the street. The parking lot is at the end on the right.
