Atlanta - The JhedalKunk - a freshman in college who remembers things that may or may not have happened and struggles with 3 multiple personalities. When a plane she is riding to Seattle, Washington crashes in the middle of Wisconson, Atlanta is the only survivor, leaving her an orphan. Alone in the world, Atlanta uses the only real skills she has - computer programming and fighting - to provide for herself. She travels south to escape the cold, but stops when she reaches the Chicago area. She is not greeted with anything but the smallest settlement from the airline company and a brief frenzy by the press. Taking her small amount of moneys, she finds a life for herself working with computers from her home in Aurora, Illinois and fighting in Chicago. She's finally developed a comfortable life when an unexplained illness sends her to one doctor after another, the diagnosis the same: Atlanta's cellular structure is degrading rapidly. All the doctors can do is treat the pain and monitor her condition twice a week. When she starts having visions and the pain medication loses effect, she looks back to her memories for answers, memories that may or may not be true. She awakens to the world humanity works very hard to ignore, a world of magic and monsters. Atlanta's memories tell her of these things and what they mean - and what that means she must do...or is her mental instability combined with the trauma of the plane crash and her illness finally catching up to her?
Her visions lead her and the group to resurrect the Atlantien Empire, but she can't help but wonder? Is she losing her mind? When Bask tells her that her body isn't dying but evolving into an Atlantien, she doesn't know what to think. Maybe she's been smoking up a bit too much?

Perhaps, someday, a love of his own.
Named High Bard of the Empire and Keeper of the Archives, Rico's troubles have hardly begun. Guilt stricken because he only realized love afteer Torin had died, Rico refuses to find happiness.?

Scott Thompson - The Healer - Scott was a childhood prodigy. At the age of 8 he knew as much about molecular biology as the leading researchers in the field. Not only was he a whiz at biology but sciences in general were a cake walk for him. He spoke the language of mathematics fluently. But at the age of 10, a drunk driver ran through a red light, right into the side of the car. Scott escaped mostly unharmed, but both his parents were killed. Guilt-ridden and emotionally scarred, his gifts desert him. He retreated into a dark depression and eventually found himself living with his Aunt and Uncle in Aurora, Illinois. As an average student, he bitterly went through school and is now 18, in his first year of college. The summer of 2002 found him working as a doctor's assistant in Aurora hoping to gain back the brilliance he once had.
With the ressurection of the first Atlantien Colony, Scott is named the healer of the group, a position he has concerns about living up to.

Matt Slagel - The General - Matt Slagel is a medieval enthusiast, born in the capital of the world, New York City. Through a stormy childhood, his parents divorced at age seven. His father moved away to San Francisco for a lucrative partnership in an investment firm, and his mother died six years later in a train accident. Matt went now to stay with his uncle in Chicago, a somewhat loony collector of medieval relics, arms, and armor. It is there that he developed his affinity towards the old forms of combat.
After living with his uncle for five years and learning from him what he could about medieval weaponry and armor, as well as how to use them, he went off to community college, majoring in medieval military history. There, he met Scott, and now they're friends.
Matt ran around doing tasks for people as a part-time business, until he could finally afford to open up his dream shop with medieval stock. Now, he is the General of the Atlantien Empire and bearer of the Brother Sword.

Vin DiNiente - The Influencer - A New York state native, Vin describes himself as another "White Guy from New York." When things went crazy, Atlanta called him because she considered him someone who actually knew a thing or two about those things that we just can't easily explain - magic, the occult, fairies, the untapped human psyche, whatever you want to call it. Vin rides a motorcycle, and keeps his shoulder length black hair tied back, because that's the only way anyone can tell he's Italian.
Vin channeled energy from Atlanta to bring the settlement in Illinois back from the universe without a dimension of time where Atalanta had stored it. This ability is called Influencing, making the energy that forms the world around us want to do what he wants it to do. It requires embracing the energy, not wielding it or controlling it. Almost more being controlled by it. Vin walks a delicate road, as he would not be the first Influencer drawn into the song of the energy.

Gabrielle "Gabe" Hardimon - Demolitions and Weaponry - Gabe is an 18 year old College Freshman. He Stands about 6'2" has green eyes and has short dyed blonde hair (naturally light brown). Little has happened in his life worthy of note, no major tramautizing experience, or anything of the like. He grew up with both his mother and father outside of New York before recently moving away to Illnois to attend college, he stays with his aunt right now instead of the dorms at college.
Gabe's most interesting characteristic, is his almost inhuman obsession with fire. He brings it to an art, understanding the chemical reactions and color spectrums of most flammable materials. He is careful, however; he's never burned anything more than a few ants, and a few hairs off his head.
Gabe is a fairly intellgient person, but nothing worthy of note. He is quite sarcastic as well, and is proud of it. He is almost always found with a backback on containing various flammable liquids, as well as fire starters, and some home made fireworks, and maybe . . . just maybe, an explosive or two.
'Cause you never know when you're gonna need a good explosion.

Tobias - The Scholar and Advisor - Tobias is a 19 year old whose outward appearance is only notable by his lack of hair. Quietly he has spent the past two years gaining knowledge at a university under the tutelage of some of the most adequate minds in the world. He is a quick study, and adept at quickly gaining most skills, yet still has issues honing any of them to a fine edge. Personally little is known about him except he has wandered in from the direction of Joliet.

Justane - The Assasin - Raised by the Council of Elders, Justane, a human, was given drugs and extensive training to make him abnormally strong, fast, and lethal. He watched as others died from the regime, when he alone had survived he was drugged and operated on, awaking even stronger, faster, and angrier than before.
Mutilated by the council of elders, he knew no choice but to follow their orders, killing who they said, and always escaping unseen. He grew cocky and showed disrespect to his keepers among the council. Shortly after he killed Bask they decided his behavior had gone too far, that he dared too much when addressing them. They destroy his life, his home, his possessions. Recognizing that he was hardly a pawn to the Council, Atlanta pardons him his crimes and makes him an integral member of the Comrati.

Scruffy D. - The Scruff - As the group investigates the first colony they've awoken off world, Scruffy approaches them. Dressed in loose fitting black pants tucked into durable black boots and a white tight fitting undershirt, The Scruff, offers to aid the group, but, having just returned from the wastes of the planet, The Scruff can offer little intelligence. A peculiar person of uncertain gender, the Scruff seems to have trouble communicating, even with aid of the translator - or...does the Scruffy? The Scruff uses no weapons, but keeps a weapon resembling a sai in a sheath on each of it's calf-high boots. The Scruff also has a ubiquitous black backpack, which holds, amongst many other goodies: gray, white, and black shirts; a cloak; a spare pair of pants; knives, to be used as tools, not weapons; a number of many-in-one tools and several books.

Yaluhshei - A newcomer to the group. When The Scruff led a few into the city, Scruffy found Yaluhshei, whom the Scruff nicknamed 'Yalu.' The two were friendly acquaintances prior to the bombings.

Serge duNacht - A traveling french student studying languages at the University of Paris meets Atlanta in a parisian coffee house where Atlanta is passing time between UN sessions. Something about her catches his eye, and he approaches her. Atlanta speaks with the student briefely and decides that he should go with the group, though she is not certain why.
