We proudly continue the ministry of these who came before us. With new faces and new songs we continue the tradition of preaching, teaching, and sharing the gospel message. The First Baptist Church of Fort Morgan is charged by the American Baptist Churches of the Rocky Mountains to innovate, sponsor, and evaluate new forms of community that will encourage development of the fullest potential for individuals. We therefore support social climates in which human communities are maintained and strengthened for the sake of every person.

The purpose of our existence as the First Baptist Church of Fort Morgan is to reach out to the need wherever love and service may convey God's love and our own. Its purpose shall be the preaching of the Gospel, the administration of the ordinances of the New Testament for the spiritual improvement of its members, and the conversion of the world to Jesus Christ. It shall be affiliated with the American Baptist Churches of the Rocky Mountains, and the American Baptist Churches of the USA. The outreach of our church knows no limits for the mission of the First Baptist church of Fort Morgan exists in and for the secular world..

This is translated in our mission statement. Specifically, the mission of the First Baptist Church is to:

1. Provide a place of worship, study and service for the citizens of our area, residential housing for staff as arranged for with individual pastors.
2. Provide a meeting space free of cost for charitable community, national and world organizations.
3. We do not provide facilities for profit-making organizations.
