Superbowl runner up year, Darkiller achieved the following score: One of our top scores of all time and in a non-championship season. Welcome to the league: Retirees: After 12 seasons, all with the Browns, G Cory Corbett has retired. Passing on a chance to play 20 years, legendary K Burt Milne retires after spending the last 7 years in brown while earning 2 2nd Team Kicker awards, he also earned 2 1st Team Kicker awards ealier in his career. He is the career record holder with 539 FGs, 38 in front of another former K, Raymond Gardner. We currently have 38 players under contract
and must decide on a franchise designee before the expansion draft. Dunkelberger gets the tag as we have a little more depth elsewhere. I might regret not locking up Willis after a huge year last season but his talent doesn't warrent it since we have others in waiting for a change. We expose: Onto FA... Of the big 4 FAs, we retains Dunkleberger
and Coleman, but Willis and Spano move on. Currently we have the #35 pick in every round, but I'm determined to grab a stud this year and I know who I want so lets do a little trading. Trade #1(35), #3(35), 2021 #1, QB Kenneth Woods to Greensboro for #1(1) Draft: The Roster coming out of Training Camp and

troups: Scout Johann: "I've overseen the scouting department almost since day one. I scouted the great Donnie Sheen, I brought in Lee Clark, Rico Rodriguez, and Robbie Jeffries. They're all great players. But this Wiese kid is one of the purest specimans of a football player that I have ever seen." Preseason: Game 1 at Houston 4pt Favs Game 2 at San Francisco(0-1) 4pt Favs Game 3 vs Cincinatti(2-0) 5pt Fav Game 4 at Baltimore(1-2) Even At 2-2, the Browns look like they are lost on the football field. Guard Duane Hanson just dislocated his shoulder but the depth at Guard will help there. Clark thus far is 62/137 45.2% 981yds 4/7 58.0 Simply PITIFUL. We need to turn this ship and FAST. I really wanted to get a back up for Rico in the draft but there wasn't any talent there and Wiese is just a monster, I don't have the file in front of me but he looks somewhat like this:63/100 65/100 98 How could I not move up to draft him? I'm also starting him despite him not having quite the talent of Copeland, I can't wait to see this kids career. Free Agency really bummed me out, as I really wanted to keep Spano and I lost out on FA Kickers and Punters and now we have scrubs there, my only real acquisition was at a position of extreme depth, Guard. Our defense is making plays but our offense isn't. I don't usually do much of anything to the game plan, but I might have to. I'm less worried about Rico(despite him being our worst starter according to the scout) as I am about Clark. Rico was battling a case of turf toe and still put up respectable numbers, Clark has had one ok game, 2 bad games, and one horrible game. He needs to step up and shake the feeling that he is a Jeff George type of QB. Week 7 BYE, No extra off days this week,
the team needs to learn they must earn such luxuries. Week 8 vs Baltimore(3-3) 3pt Fav Week 9 at Tennessee(3-4) 3pt Dog Week 10 vs San Diego(7-1) 4pt Dog Week 11 at Pittsburg(5-4) 6pt Fav Simply stunning, we're starting to roll, get through a couple tough games and then POW, the offense hits a wall. The defense kept us in it, but the big plays went the other way. We have a VERY big game next week. Week 12 at Cincinnati(7-3) 1pt Dog The game wasn't pretty unless you're a Browns fan, and that we are and this puts us into a tie for the division lead. Standings after week 12 Week 13 vs New Orleans(7-4) 8pt Fav Week 14 at Jacksonville(1-11) 10pt Fav Yes, we lost. We lost to the worst team in the NFL. We lost despite Clark playing one of the best games of his pro career. Our defense couldn't stop them when they needed to, though they didn't play bad, yielding only 254 yards of total offense, 2 rushing. This hurts. Cincy lost and Pitt won and we're now at the bottom of a 3way tie for first. Week 15 at Seattle(7-5-1) 1pt Fav We're still in a 3way tie for the division lead. Week 16 vs Buffalo(6-8) 6pt Fav We're in a 3way divisional tie at 10-5 with Cincy and Pittsburgh. It's actually concievable that we could finish 11-5 and MISS the playoffs, let's hope we don't have to face that situation. Week 17 vs Jacksonville(2-13) 13pt Fav No freak stuff in this game, though it is disturbing that Clarks only really "Great" games this year were at the hands of the lowly Jags... Pittsburgh won thier final game and we're force to take a wild card slot in a VERY competitive AFC, and are forced to do it on the road. I probably won't get to the playoffs until after Christmas, but I'll try. Merry Christmas everyone. I'll I want for Christmas is another Browns SuperBowl Ring.... Before I get to the playoffs, let me answer a couple questions.Cohesion: The passing cohesion definately isn't there. The D-Front surprises me a little since I've started the rookie Wiese in every game and this is really Gordon's first year as a starter in his young career. It also hasn't seemed like it, but our Passing game, yardage wise, is the 5th best in the league, about 100yards behind the leading team. Our defense has given up 250 yards fewer on the ground than any other team(1246), but we've given up the 2nd most passing yards in the league. Foster was battling a nagging injury all year and that hurt a little there. Again we we're penalized 152 times, worst in league. To finish the team stats off, we had the 2nd best TO margin, at +11. I will give individual stats after the year when I can include awards. Let's begin by setting up the playoffs:New England(only team with as many SB victories as us, and a perfect 4 for 4 in those games, and the only team with a higher playoff winning percentage) is of course in. NE 11-5 Philly 10-6 We have the best power rating in the league though, but at only 81, everything is wide open. Atl 17 Cin 3 Det 34 Wild Card game, at Indy(11-5) 1pt Dog Porter is the only one that was mildly serious coming into the playoffs and he won't start. The game was very defensive, with lots of Field goals, we pull it out 19-13 in OT, a very tough opening round game. Rodriguez 26/70 1 TD Atl 7 Det 14 NE 20 Quarterfinal at Charlottesville(12-4) 2pt
Dog Rodriguez 26/232 1TD NO 13 AFC Championship Game at NE(13-5) EVEN NE won the toss, but our defense is psyched, 3 and out, we get our first shot with the ball. We run on the first three downs and end up with 4th and 2 at our 38 and the Browns go for it, but Rico is short and NE takes over with great field position. The rookie, Wiese, decides the defense must make a statement if the offense won't and crushes the NE QB for a 7 yard loss on the first play. Unfortunately, NE recovers and hits a 40yd FG to take the early lead. Rodriguez breaks a 35 yarder during the next possesion and finishes the drive off with a run from the 8 and we're now up 7-3 A couple big pass plays and big Defensive Holding calls and NE takes the lead early in the 2nd quarter, 10-7. Kick Returner Hughes breaks a 77 yard return on the ensuing kickoff, brought down at the NE 24. Clark to Pearson a few plays later, and we're back in front 14-10. The defense stops NE on the next possession 3 and out, highlighted by a Clifton Duncan sack. The offense is clicking, 10 yards here, 15 there and eventually Clark finds Vaughn to put us up 21-10. NE returns the ball to the 50 and runs a good 2minute drill to get a FG before half, 21-13 Halftime. Our first possession of the 2nd half fizzles quickly, as does theirs, and our next one, before you know it, it's the 4th quarter, still 21-13. The 2nd play of the 4th quarter is a 41 yard TD pass from Clevelands Lee Clark to New Englands Amos Maxie, add the 2pt conversion, it's 21-21. After a couple first downs, we punt again, but force a 3 and out with 10 minutes left. Give the ball to Rico behind Banks and 71 yards later, TD! 28-21. Gordon and Whiting are both hurt on the next NE drive that eventually leads to the endzone with 4 minutes to go. 28-28. Clark to Jeffries 19yards After a little bit of time wasting, they punch it in, 35-28, 1 minute to go. Incomplete The SuperBowl pitts, 3 time champ, and
defending champ, TB against the evil 4 time champ Pats, that won 2 years
ago. Clark 247/483 51.1% 3824(3rd) 19/16 76.9 |
