Foils are coated polyester films that
allow transfer of the coatings to a substrate.
Foils are transferred by using machines that can
apply heat and pressure in a dwell time. These three factors are closely
related to the extent that increasing one allows reduction in another.(i.e.
More heat, less pressure.)

Foil References : are generally
made up of a prefix and a suffix. One will indicate the colour and the
other the grade of foil.
i.e. Foilco 654

meaning Colour 654gold,
Grade ABG
There can be exceptions to this, for example
some holographic foils include a reference to the pattern.
