By 1980, my style was steadily improving. At the same time shirt advertising started to develop, and two of the stars of my league at that time, Tony Joty of Porto Scivn and Timy Euston of Abond are both drawn with sponsored shirts, as are Porto Scivn's FL Cup winners of 1979(below)Click here  for larger picture

A year later in 1981, I developed my hobby into another section as I made "programmes" for some games. This is something that came to a highlight around 1983, when I made programmes of all 22 clubs playing in my first division that season.
Below is a drawing of Arinhoff's John
Martin, one of the great goalscorers of that time.
His shirt is much influenced by the shirt of Blackburn Rovers, while the cockerel of the green Croyston shirt more than resembles Spurs'.

When I was a kid I collected football cards, and by 1981 I had also started to draw my own. Below is a couple from the 1981-82 series, in which I made around 170 different cards. By now Tony Joty, the greatest star of that era, had moved to Alarbick following Porto Scivns relegation in 1980.
