This site collects together aspects of my genre writing, from professionally published westerns, to Star Wars fan fiction
and Blakes 7 fan fiction and assorted stories and roleplaying material. People who have read something of mine and enjoyed it can use
this site to find more of my work, or to discover more about the characters and worlds in my fiction.
Comments and suggestions on the fiction and this website are welcome. My e-mail address is at the bottom of this page.

This is where to find works of original fiction, short stories and a poem or two. Most is s-f or fantasy related but there's some spooky tales and humour |

This section has a variety of roleplaying material, including an article on one-off roleplaying, and three frivolous adventures |
I've just overhauled the fanfiction section of my site. As more an more stories went up, mostly Star Wars, the single index page was becoming long and untidy. There's now a main page introducing fan fiction, and the two fandoms I write about. From there, you can go direct to pages which are dedicated to one fandom or the other: Blakes 7 or Star Wars.
On each fandom page you'll find stories, other fan stuff and links to related sites. It's all pretty and shiny, and I'm really pleased with it. Click here to take a look.
I've also given the western section a thorough makeover recently. As the site has expanded, there's a lot more material than when I first created the site, eight years ago. The Black Horse Westerns are now indexed on a page of their own. Other topics, like favourite books and movies, and a bibliography, now have their own pages, with room for expansion.

I now have copies of
Darrow's Badge for sale, at £5.00 each. This is the third book in the on-going series about aristocratic, arrogant Sheriff Darrow, and his English deputy, Hugh Keating, who is equally aristocratic, but a disarmingly honest coward.
Hugh is getting married, and Govan is getting busy; there's a carnival, Hugh's brother, Richard, is in town, and so are four thieves, who are most interested in the heirloom jewellery that Richard has brought along for Hugh's wife-to-be....
Two-Gun Trouble is my newest Black Horse Western, and it's out in large-print NOW. I'm particularly pleased about getting Two-Gun Trouble into print, as I've got long-term plans for the characters and the setting.
The story is set in Motherlode, a fictional silver-mining town in Colorado, not too far from the area I visited in 2004. The principal characters in this story are Jenny, owner and madam of a top-class parlour house, and Jonah Durrell, the manhunter who first appeared in
Navajo Rock. I liked Jonah a lot, and have been keen to give him his own set of stories. Future Motherlode stories will hopefully include two characters first met in the Darrow books. I'm planning to make things really difficult for those readers who like to organize their books into neat series :)
I have copies of Darrow's Badge, Hyde's Honour, and Navajo Rock available at bargain prices. Thesse books are now out-of-print, but I have copies for sale at £5 each, plus P&P. Autographs free ! I can accept payment by personal cheque (UK sterling), Postal Order or PayPal. Contact me to

I am a part-time writer who lives in Sheffield, England, which is the best-kept secret in the Universe. No, really; lots of people come to Sheffield to study and half of them never leave again. I have a joint-honours degree in Archaeology and Ancient History, which has been of no practical use to me whatsoever. At university, I was chair of the roleplaying society and of the medieval re-enactment society. I share my flat with Skiffle, a pretty black and white cat with tthe intellect of a bedspread and Diesel, a brown cat with a turbo-charged purr. I don't go to the movies often enough anymore. I've been on the TV quiz show '15-1' three times and I won once. In 2008 I recorded two heats of Mastermind. When I grow up, I want to be a racing driver :).
