Welcome to my webpage. If you've discovered this page then chances are, you share the same passion for writing that I do. That same burning need inside you to tell a story about two incredible people that are lucky enough to find each other. Whether it's love at first sight, an all consuming hatred, or a simple case of being in the wrong place, at the wrong time, love brings them together and takes them on the ride of their lives. If your a romance writer and you don't believe in the power of love, then what on earth are you writing about? Infact if this describes you I want you to e-mail me and tell me why you don't believe in love. Not only is this site designed to help others follow their dreams, it's also a way for me to channel my own frustrations and still be productive. I've added an on-line journal of sorts so that whenever I'm having a block, I can share that experience with others. And believe me I have a lot of blocks. |

My name is Shalon Lori Cobbett, I'm 22 and someday I will get published. I live in Oromocto, New Brunswick, Canada and am in my fifth year at the University of New Brunswick, Fredericton. Although my dream is to make a living at what I love to do, I'm not naive enough to believe it will happen over night. And lets face it, dreams don't pay the bills. So in the mean time I'm getting my Education degree and in another year I'll be teaching Elementary school. I'm currently working on my first novel. I am determined to finish this one before I even think of starting another, and that's damn hard when you have a million ideas swirling around in your head. Black Pearl, the tentative title is set in the French Polynesia, or more specifically an island off the coast of Tahiti. Allison is sent to investigate the business dealings of her own uncle under the pretense of needing a vacation. While she is trying to figure things out she falls for her uncle's mysterious right hand man, Matt. As the story unravels she believes that Matt may have more to do with the discrepencies than she would like. But just when Allison thinks she has everything figured out, her world comes crashing down around her, first emotionally and then physically. I'm still working some kinks out, but I've done my homework and just need to get some more solid time set aside for writing. That always seems to be the problem doesn't it. Anyway I think I've rambled on long enough so I think I let you get back to exploring this page. Better yet I'm going to give you some great advice. Bookmark this page for later, unless of course you just got on-line, then get off the computer and write, write, write. |
