Chief Engineering Officer's Office
Located just off Main Engineering on Deck 21.
The chief engineer’s office is quite large when one considers the size of many offices, one entire wall is transparent aluminium looking out in to main engineering although a coating over the wall can be opaqued to provide for privacy.
Inside the office a standard desk it set up near the back wall such that the person behind it faces the door. And between the desk and the doorway a low table with a few equally low comfy chairs provides a small space for meetings with the assistant CEO’s.
The left side of the room appears much higher tech, a smaller version of the master situations display is the focus of this area and surrounding this on the walls are several multipurpose screens which usually hold the information on the external systems and the power regulation data.
At the back of this area under one of the displays there is a small functional work bench and there can often be seen a number of smaller devices being worked on here.
The current CEO, Peter Aspinall has made relatively few changes to the office although the desk chair has been replaced by a larger cream leather chair he finds more comfortable. Three paintings adorn the walls around the desk, one from each of Peter’s other assignments (USS CENTURY, USS MERLIN and the GS2 complex) A single side table holds a scale model of the HMS Victory, beyond this there is little personalisation apart from a photo, quite recently take, of his daughter and husband.
