About Us -The Company
|
The world is discovering that the possibilities are endless with FUBU! What began as a bunch of hats made in Daymond
John's home in Hollis, Queens has turned him into the CEO of an incredibly successful active sportswear company. |
Nineteen ninety-two was the year Daymond came up with the idea to make and sell his own tie-top hats as a means of making "easy money". The conception of FUBU began when Daymond could not find suitable hats in neighborhood retail shops, leading him to creating his own hats in his Queens home. |
Daymond mortgaged his home for $100, 000.00, turning half of the house into a factory and the other half into living space for the FUBU "Team". The "Team" consisted of neighborhood friends, Vice President J. Alexander Martin and co-founders Keith Perrin and Carl Brown. J., Keith and Carl are the key members of "Team FUBU" to date. |
The earliest collection consisted of tee shirts, rugby shirts, hockey jerseys, and baseball caps,
all embroidered with the FUBU logo. By 1995, an extensive sportswear line was being designed
and produced by FUBU, using raw materials imported from around the world. And with their success
came investors! Samsung America, the tenth largest company in the world, continues to assist in the
production and distribution of FUBU's orders. To date, over 5,000 stores earry the FUBU
collection including Macy's, Foot Locker, International Stores, Footaction, Nordstrom, The
Buckle, and Dr. Jay's. The collection is also sold internationally in Japan, Germany, France,
England and Australia.
In the near future, look for tremendous excitement with the debut of our newest licensed lines
including FUBU Ladies ready-to-wear, FUBU Boys, FUBU footwear, socks, bags and accessories;
FUBU underwear and loungewear. Keep your eyes open for eyewear, your senses aware for
