Belly of the Beast

After a successful trip to Tempe, Arizona, the Silver Dragon Bandwagon pulled into the second stop on tour - Buckeye. General Manager Mark Trollinger, Coach Ray Rhodes, legend Barry Sanders, Frank Wycheck and team Captain, Edgerrin James greeted a swarm of fans. "These cats are hungry for a championship team", said Sanders. Trollinger added: " The turnout here today and the outpouring of support shows that the Silver Dragons may just be America's Team. [General Manager Jerry] Starlin is good at running his cake hole, but turning an expansion team into a contender? He shouldn't even attempt to talk smack to the Silver Dragons. Not only is he boombastic toward me, but he claims he should have been Coach of the Year last year? I will say he was .500 last year, although I believe he was actually 8-9. Regardless, not Coach of the Year material. He had a few flashes of success - playing Apex twice, Steubenville twice and Jackson twice will pad your record. He is a flash in the pan at best and the fan support here in Buckeye for the Silver Dragons shows that Mr. Starlin, like the Pet Rock, is a passing fad.

Captain Edgerrin James commented on the fact that the league has basically made Hayashi a marked team. "Historically, we're the best. Everyone wants to take a shot at the Dragons. Upstarts like the Beasts, Alvada and some of the new expansion teams for next season are allready talking ish. That's because they ain't done ish, so for them to come into a game with Hayashi and pull one out, that puts a good mark on the calendar. In order to be the man, you gotta beat the man. I am here to say that Hayashi, we's the man! And these young bucks want to prove them belong in a league with such as elite team." Frank Wycheck was asked what he thought about the talk generated by the Beast organization. "A guppy goin' up against a killer whale would have more luck."

The bandwagon tour not only takes Hayashi to various cities already boasting CDFL teams such as Tempe and Buckeye. Trollinger stated: "In markets where the CDFL has left, we need to be in there converting those fans into Silver Dragon fans. We need to show that although the CDFL has left, they have not been forgotten. Next stop on the tour will be closer to home as the bus pulls into Dallas, GA to visit the former home of Jeremy Cole's Northside Golden Eagles.

Edgerrin James finished by wondering about the upcoming stops. "If these fans are that hyped, I can't imagine what will happen when we get to NorthShore!."
