Slow Go

So far the 2004 - 2005 Season has not went as team officials have planned. True, with a 1-1 record Hayashi has identically the same record as the entire league - only Alvada and Jackson have two wins. Thanks to a week 2 tie, Tempe and Moscow are 1-0-1 and 0-1-1 respectively. Cleveland and Apex are both 0-2 while the other teams are all 1-1. The problem lies with the Hayashi offensive's production. Already forced to make player moves due to injury and lack-luster production, the General Manager is getting restless

It doesn't take long for GM Mark Trollinger's patience to run thin and after two boring weeks of football, it seems like the time is now. Frustrated with the ability to pass any sport of trade in the league, Trollinger has turned to the waiver wire, which thanks in part to the depth of the league this season, hasn't turned up many rewards. "In year's past we could sign an immediate contributor from the waiver wire" Trollinger said. "This year, with 16 teams and the number of rounds in the draft, it just isn't there. Usually you will find a sleeper or two as a free agent, but this year you have to really do your homework to find anyone that would bring even the smallest contribution to a team." Trollinger was forced to make some player transactions when RB Julius Jones went down with a broken shoulder and would be lost of two months. TE Anthony Becht had not performed up to standards and was released. In their places, Trollinger signed Cowboys RB Ricky Lee and Panthers TE Kris Mangum.

Trollinger has been disappointed in his teams output. Week one saw Hayashi win 45-30 over an Apex team that has scored even less than Hayashi. This week, the Silver Dragons dropped a close on the the 2-0 Neersters. Hayashi was closing in as WR Randy Moss scored a late TD, but the Neerster defense was too punishing and sealed the victory. QB Matt Hasselbeck has been outperformed by bench buddies Vinny Testaverde and David Carr. The running game the Silver Dragons felt could be a potential weakness has turned into just that. No offense TD's from the running game. Head Coach Terry Hoeppner has been juggling WR Doug Gabriel, Laveruneous Coles, Reggie Wayne and Darrius Watts with no positive results.

If the Silver Dragons do not figure out how to put up some points on the board, this season will be a long, cold one in Hayashi. Back
