We found a friend on the return trip across the Gulfstream heading home to Florida. All by himself, he must have been lonely. He swam along with us for about 20 minutes, then took off like a rocket (torpedo?) heading in the opposite direction.
In the picture to the left, the dolphin is just beneath the surface and will breach for air a few seconds later. In the top picture, the dolphin is several feet beneath the surface. You don't realize how clear the water is until there is something to see. The chart says the water is around 2500 feet deep here.
