Producer for the show and the man with the dodgy accent. |
After just a few short days in Manchester I was given the name Matt the Brum and ever since then it has stuck. I have lived all of my life in the 'posh areas' of Birmingham or rather in Kings Norton just outside of the centre of the city. This has led to many cries of "Bloody hell you have the worst Brummy accent I have ever heard" and being christened 'Dudley' at work! However, whilst this will give no problems in guessing who I am when speaking on the show, I like to think that the boys won't hold this against me when we are on air. In spite of a shaky start to life in Manchester, what with a poor placement in Grosvenor Halls of Residence, I have greatly enjoyed my life in the city. My Politics and Modern history degree is proving to be very hard work and as a result I can quite regularly be found at a desk in the library. Indeed there are certain chairs in the building which by now must possess my perfect arse groove! Outside of the unfortunate studying that has to be done whilst at University the social side of the two years has also been fantastic. Club Tropicana has continued to be a winner and the assorted pubs in and around Fallowfield have proven themselves to be a set of very convenient watering holes that have allowed us all to stumble back home drunk on many occassions. The comedy store on Deansgate locks has also given me and our whole group many enjoyable evenings, acting as a contrast to our usual nights out throughout the year. In the initial FuseFM broadcast period I was part of the crucial technical team that kept the station ticking over smoothly! This lead to me living off minimal sleep over the two weeks and generally worrying my mom and the girls off my course, whilst at the same time causing me to become a 'Moody Pric' according to my housemates. Despite all of this I enjoyed the whole experience immensely and met many new and talented people. The first broadcast was good, the second wasn't bad although getting Tim and Paul out of bed at six in the morning proved to be an almost impossible task. This time round there is a general feeling that we will be on top form and the station as a whole is going from strength to strength. I hope you enjoy the show. |
