So without energy nothing could exist.
Actually every kind of energy comes from the sun.

- We (humans) get our energy from plants, plants make energy from water and sunlight, this process is called photosynthesis.
- We also get energy from meat, The meat comes from animals that have eaten plants, so there is energy in it.
- Solar power comes from the sun.
- Even earth oil comes from the sun, earth oil are plants that lived millions of years ago. And the plants were squashed by rocks and other heavy stuff.

Nowadays we use a lot of electricity, that is also energy, but most of it isn't "clean". That is made by heat, and they get that heat by burning coal or oil. Burning coal and oil is very polluting, and someday the earth will run out of fossil fuels. That is why we start to use more "clean" energy. That energy is called renewable energy,because the earth will never run out of that energy.
