How Seravi and Dorothy became Friends

Chapter 2: The Arrival

"NO I DON’T WANT TO EAT THIS, TAKE IT AWAY NOW! I HATE VEGETABLES! Y’KNOW I DON’T EAT VEGETABLES, WHY DO YOU STILL GIVE THEM TO ME!" yelled Dorothy at the top of her lungs. "But Dorothy dear they’re good for your body. Why don’t you try some, it’s not that hard to eat," coax Mrs. Roselle, the housekeeper, she had taken care of Dorothy ever since the little girl was born and was used to the girl’s temperamental outbursts.

"Come on dearie, if you eat your vegetables I promise to take you to the mall and you can buy all the candy you want." "Can I come too Auntie Rosy, pity, pity please? Look, I ate all my vegetables, I want to come too!" begged Doris. "Okay dear, you can come as well." answered Mrs. Roselle. Doris is Dorothy’s younger brother. "Doris is a nice well-obedient boy. But something about him isn’t right. He’s a boy but he enjoys playing his sister’s dolls and tea party sets than his collection of robots and action figures. I’ve never seen such behaviour before. I simply can’t understand why. Maybe it’s just a childhood thing which Doris will outgrow of over time," thought Mrs. Roselle.

"Fine I’ll eat my vegetables, although I know I don’t like them," said Dorothy. "That’s a good girl…."said Mrs. Roselle. DING DONG! "Huh? I wonder who could that be." She quickly made her way downstairs.

A green-hair boy greeted her at the gate. "What do you want child?" asked Mrs. Roselle. "Errm…I’m here to deliver a message to the lord," said Seravi. "I’m a message-boy from the palace. King Genus asked me to deliver this." He offered the envelope, but Mrs. Roselle turned it down. "I’m afraid your timing is all wrong boy, you see, the lord and lady have gone on a business trip and won’t be back for some months." Said Mrs. Roselle. "Come inside, it’s a pity for you to come all the way in vain. Let me make it up to you by offering you a drink." "I would like that very much thank you Madam," said Seravi. "My, what a well-mannered boy!" thought Mrs. Roselle.

As they entered the house, Seravi gawked at its massive size and splendid interior. "This was probably the biggest and most beautiful house I’ve ever since," said Seravi. "That’s good, the lord would be very glad to hear of it," answered Mrs. Roselle. "I could never live in this kind of place, I’ll have to be polite for every minute of the day……it’s just not me, I’m trained to be polite though," thought Seravi as Mrs. Roselle brought him to the living room. "Sit down, wait here while I get your drink," said Mrs. Roselle. "Thank you," said Seravi. Mumbling to himself , "Can’t I just say okay?! It’s so formal here."

"Hey Doris, I wonder who has come?," asked Dorothy. "I don’t know," answered her brother. "Could it be Daddy and Mummy?" asked Doris. "No, it cannot be, they’re not suppose to be back yet," answered Dorothy. "Why? Then when are they suppose to be back?" asked Doris who felt irritated and jealous of his sister. "Why does she know so much and I don’t?" thought Doris. "A few month’s time. They’re on a business trip. Simmer down Doris, I only know this much because I overheard Mrs. Roselle telling it some guests the last time." "Hey…how did you know what I was thinking?" asked Doris. "The question was written all over your face," replied Dorothy. "Huh? I have ink on my face." said Doris, touching his face. This made Dorothy giggle. "No, silly, I meant your face gave you away…ha ha ha ha! Let’s find out who it is. Come, I’ll race you downstairs." "All right, but next time don’t call me silly!" said Doris. "Okay," answered Dorothy.

With that, the two siblings, raced down the stairs together.
