How Seravi and Dorothy became Friends

Chapter 3: The Meeting

"LOOK! It’s a little boy with green hair. He’s just like us, shall we make friends?" asked Doris. "Sure!" answered Dorothy. They approached Seravi, Dorothy being ahead of Doris, who was still mumbling to himself.

"Hi…hey are you okay? You kept talking to yourself," asked Dorothy.

Seravi turned and saw the prettiest girl he had ever seen. "Oh..err. I’m all right," stammered Seravi realising he’s within earshot. "I was just thinking aloud at how splendid this place is." "Thinking aloud, isn’t that talking?" asked Dorothy. "No, I was thinking. There’s a big difference between thinking and talking," answered Seravi. "This guy thinks he’s so cool when he sticks out like a sore thumb. What an irritant!" thought Dorothy, welling up in anger. "Hey, what’s your name? I think you’re cute!" said Seravi. WHACK! "Ouch, that hurt," cried Seravi rubbing at the big bump on his head. "DON’T YOU EVER CALL ME CUTE! I get very insulted because it means ugly but adorable. SO DON’T EVER CALL ME CUTE!" yelled Dorothy. "I’m sorry, okay you’re very pretty then. Now can you tell me your name?" "My name is…"replied Dorothy, unable to continue her sentence.

"What’s all that racket?" demanded Mrs. Roselle, who had just come in with Seravi’s drink. "Oh my goodness, what happened Seravi?" "Oh, just a minor accident…."replied Seravi, when Doris cut in, "DOROTHY HIT HIM ON THE HEAD AUNTY ROSY!" "Shut up Doris, why must you choose now to be honest!" wailed Dorothy. "Is that so Dorothy…why did you hit Seravi on the head? Hmmm?" asked Mrs. Roselle. "He…he…HE CALLED ME CUTE, Y’KNOW I DON’T LIKE BEING CALLED CUTE!" yelled Dorothy. "Is she always like that?" whispered Seravi to Doris. "Always," whispered Doris. "Just get use to it, it’ll fade after a while."

"This is totally unacceptable behaviour young lady! Fancy hit the head of our nice guest," scolded Mrs. Roselle. "Seravi…nice…yuck!" thought Dorothy. "I want you to go to your room now and stay there!" instructed Mrs. Roselle.

"Waaaah!" cried Dorothy as she ran upstairs towards her room. Minutes later, they heard a door lock. "Don’t mind Dorothy Seravi, she’s always like that," said Mrs. Roselle. "It’s okay madam," answered Seravi.

"Dorothy, so that’s her name," thought Seravi. "Call me Aunty Rosy," said Mrs. Roselle. "Doris, I want you to take good care of Seravi here," instructed Mrs. Roselle. "Oh goody! Come Seravi, we can play tea party with the dolls!" said Doris. Seravi gawked. "Is this guy a boy or not?" wondered Seravi. "Erm, that’s not what I was thinking of dearie. You can’t play with tea party sets and the dolls because they’re your sister’s. You’ll need her permission first. I’m very sure she’s not in the mood to talk to anyone just yet," explained Mrs. Roselle. "Tell you what, why don’t you get some coloured paper? You can teach Seravi how to make those paper animals your teacher taught at school. How’s that?" "Maybe Seravi can teach you to behave more like a boy," thought Mrs. Roselle. "Yeah, thank you Aunty Rosy,"said Doris. "Come Seravi, let’s go make some paper animals," "Sure Doris!" answered Seravi. "This guy is a tad crazy, but a playmate is a playmate. I won’t get to play when I return to the castle," thought Seravi. They made their way to the play room.

"Hey Seravi look, it’s a paper giraffe!" said Doris, showing Seravi the paper toy. "Look it can even move it’s neck," "That’s nice Doris," answered Seravi, who was busy experimenting on how to fold a blue paper rose. "What are you doing?" asked Doris. "I’m trying to make a rose for your sister. I feel sorry for her. She was scolded because of me," answered Seravi. "Can you make one for me too?" asked Doris. "Of course not, roses are only given to girls. You’re not a girl," said Seravi. "BUT I WANT ONE! WHY IS IT MY SISTER GETS EVERYTHING AND I DON’T," yelled Doris, shocking Seravi. "Wait, let me finished. I’ll make you a daisy. Okay?" said Seravi. "Sheesh! This guy is a sissy with a temper!" thought Seravi. "Yeah, thank you Seravi!" said Doris. "How do you spell Dorothy?" asked Seravi, he had finished the rose and now trying to compose a note. "Erm.. D…O…R...I...S!" answered Doris. Who was fidgeting with his giraffe. "That’s not Dorothy! That’s your name!" said Seravi. "OOPS, sorry I don’t know. I know her name’s like mine but longer," answered Doris. "I knew that too, never mind I’ll figure it out myself," said Seravi. "D…O…R…O…T…Y," thought Seravi aloud. "No, there’s a H in her name somewhere, I remember that part," said Doris. "Okay, so it’s D…O…R…O…T…H…Y," said Seravi, he wrote it out. "There it’s finished. Erm…Doris can you tell me where your sister’s room is? I’ll make you a daisy when I come back," "Sure, it’s the first room after turning left at the corner," answered Doris. "Okay thanks," said Seravi.

In Dorothy’s room, Dorothy was surprise when a blue paper rose slipped through under her door. "Huh?! What is this?" she picks it up for a closer look. "Why it’s beautiful. Hmm?! There’s a note attached to it," said Dorothy. The note read: "Dear Dorothy, I’m sorry for making you cry. Seravi" "That’s so sweet of him. Maybe he is a nice guy after all," thought Dorothy. "I’ll keep this forever!"
