My Next Book: I am going in a different direction with a historical novel set in Connecticut in the 1840s, 1850s & 1860s. It was a time of great social upheaval as the U. S. economy was shifting from agrarian and cottage industries to mechanized manufacturing. Not surprisingly, utopian societies sprang up, seeking to find a better way to live. When ideals clash, so do people, and sometimes the idealists leave a trail of battered spirits behind them.
