Powers:
Merge with Shadows - Obsidian can merge his own body with his shadow to become a 3-D or 2-D shadow. In shadow form, Obsidian can not only float, but he gets enhanced strength and stamina.
Fear - Obsidian also has the ability to show someone their own hidden fear.
Telepathy - This only extends towards his sister, whom both share a telepathic bond, this has helped them fight together, but this can be disastrous seeing has how Obsidian is over-protective of his sister.

History:
Tried to join the Justice Society of America, alongside Jade and a few other teenagers. But after being rejected, they all got together and created Infinity, Inc. The group stayed together until their leader, the Star-Spangled Kid, was killed. Obsidian, along with Jade, went onto become actors. But when no body wanted them, Obsidian returned to the Superhero trade. He even joined the Justice League of America, before being kicked out for a more powerful group.

Recent Developements:
Was recently taken over by the Starheart in an effort to gain control over Jade and too steal Alan Scott's power. Obsidian obducted Scott along with the current Green Lantern and Jade's roommate Kyle Rayner, and sent then all to the realm where the Starheart exsists. Jade sacrificed her powers and ultimately defeated the Starheart and broke the Starheart's control over her brother (GL/Sentinel: Heart of Darkness 2-3). Afterwards Todd seemed to be to back to normal, even spending Christmas with his sister and father (GL#109).

Lately Todd has been seen talking to a dark mysterious figure (JSA#1), and has succumbed to the darkness of the Shadowforce and grown tremendous power from it. Todd confronted his adopted father, who beat him when he was a child, punishing him using the shadowforce. Todd then tried to destroy the world and particularly Alan Scott. Alan managed to defeat Todd, but in a last ditch effort to destroy Scott, by trying to drag him into the Shadowlands. Jim Rice jumped infront and took Alan's place instead, both are presumed dead (JSA#7-9).
