Other authors and publishers have a strong bias. Some internet sources of information show a strong bias. Students need to be careful when using the internet as a source of information. Internet information should be carefully compared with information available from more traditional sources of information, such as local libraries. Be sure to check with your teacher before using internet information in term papers.

General Sites

Canadian Encyclopedia. English and French site. Search for information by topic.

Unofficial Students Manual. General web site has information on Entertainment, Study Methods (topics include note taking, craming, reference tools), Living Essentials (topics include clothing, housing, jobs, nutrition), Social Skills (topics include friends and students, handling roommates) and Budgeting (topics include banking, budgeting, insurance), Help by Subject Area (some is college level) and Reference tools (a few of the tools include online books, conversions, dictionaries, education, encyclopedias, jobs, libraries, magazines, maps, museums, news, religion, sports, thesaurus and weather).

Subject Specific Sites

Business courses. This includes sites that may be of interest to students taking Enterprise & Innovation and Financial Mangament/Accounting courses. Includes links to banks, credit unions and other financial institutions, real estate links for pricing homes or businesses, major Canadian department stores and business supply stores.

English Courses, Literature, Research Paper format help and grammar reference sites.

Mathematics Courses. Links to a few mathematics-related web sites.

Personal Development Courses. Includes links that may be of value to students taking Career and Life Management, Career Transitions, Community Health, Career & Technology Studies courses and any other courses requiring research on occupations. There is some information for home education students taking Physical Education 10.

Students wanting to conduct a job search for a part-time job or for Work Experience may want to click on some of the links for job search information.
