Past Members Contact Gastropod |
The Past members of Gastropod are a strange lot
indeed. They are now involved in such odd array of
careers that they deserve to be discussed individually.
The original "band" lineup included two other
members: Jeremy O'Clair: bass player. Mr. O'Clair now has a master's degree, and is going back to school...He appears on the live songs "To Thee Our Dearest FHU" and the "My Simulated Life" medley on the "Preserved Specimens" album. He also appears as a back-up vocalist (read moaning) on "Three Clawed Frog," off of the "Cat Urine..." album. Jeremy was recently reported to have been at Mr. Hughes' home, but no news was given on any recording that may or may not have been done during that time. P. Jason McDougal: Drummer/guitarist. Mr. McDougal has a degree in music, and is currently employed at Wal-Mart. He appears on the live recordings, "To Thee Our Dearest FHU" and the "My Simulated Life" on the "Preserved Specimens" album. He was recently spotted at Mr. Hughes' residence laying down some drum tracks, but no other news is readily available on that front. Those two members ended up departing the band for one reason or another, although it was never made official. So, Gastropod went on as a solo act until another member was added. Jason, however, will be part of the Gastropod acoustic show January 8, 2004! Kevin White: Guitarist Kevin was the driving force behind the Magneto Men/Boivin project, and used to live in a funeral home. Kevin will be performing with Brennan and Jason for the Gastropod acoustic show in January! Bradley S. Cobb: Guitarist. He left school early due to financial constraints, and has no degree. He never appeared on a Gastropod album, but did do a couple acoustic appearances on WFHC radio as a member of Gastropod. He moved back to Illinois, and the distance from Gastropod's headquarters in Tennessee caused problems in getting practice time. Brad never officially left the group, the band just went on without him. Gastropod once did a live remake of one of his songs, but he can't remember which one it was. He currently delivers newspapers for a living, and makes the most money of any of the members of Gastropod (past or present). Within a year of Brad's departure, another guy with a "Br-" at the beginning of his name joined the band. Brent Dooley: Lead Guitarist. He was only at FHU for one semester, and is currently attending school in Southern Illinois. He never appeared on a Gastropod recording. Gastropod did practice a few times at Mr. Dooley's home in Marion, IL, but Brent met the same fate as Brad. The distance was just too much for them to work with. Brent and Brad collaborated on a remake of "The Happy Bunny Song" that inspired Brennan to re-record it. Brent is currently doing freelance writing for a local entertainment newspaper, as well as delivering flowers. Drummer: Well, I think there have been two drummers to do recording with Gastropod, but as of this point, the names aren't on file. This will be rectified shortly. There have been no additional members since then. |
