About this Dictionary

  • No guarantee is provided about this dictionary. The right to the contents belongs to the editor.
  • Listed words are collected from Mr. Morioka's novels, Seikai no Monshou and Seikai no Senki series, and their anime pieces. Some words are restored with inference.
  • Words following '*' are:
    1. those that restored with inference due to lack of an example, or
    2. those that are not fully decided due to discrepancies in different references.
  • Not all the spellings, explanations, example sentences are confirmed to be correct, because a large part of them is made by the editor.
  • There may be omitted words with a great importance.

Listed words

  • Presented spellings are from Roman alphabet mapped from Ath. Transformation rules are based on A Rough Sketch on Baronh written by Mr. Morioka. (Note: A Rough Sketch on Baronh is found in Seikai no Monshou Dokuhon.)
  • The order of words is mostly the same with that in English dictionary.
  • Proper nouns, grammatical elements (prefix, suffix, etc.), and, in some cases, inflicted form of nouns and verbs are also listed.
  • When there are multiple words with the same spelling, they are listed as ones starting with a capital letter, ones starting with a small letter, and grammatical elements, in that order.
  • Words whose spelling is not confirmed are listed after '*' followed by tentative spelling.
  • Words that are frequently used together are listed as a compound word, as well as each component.

Pronunciation

  • Since pronunciation of Baronh is very regular, individual phonetic representations are omitted. However, necessary explanations are added for exeptional cases.

A Part of Speech

  • When a word can be used as different parts of speech, the case as an independent part is listed first. (Note: "Independent part of speech" are words that used independently, such as nouns and verbs. On the other hand, grammatical elements, such as prefix or suffix is not an independent part.)
  • Independent parts are noted in 【 】, and grammatical elements are noted in 《 》.
  • The base rule on part of speech follows the explanation in A Rough Sketch on Baronh.
  • Compound words are treated as independent parts.
  • Legend for parts of speech is as follows.
    Part name Symbol
    Noun【N】
    Pronoun【PN】
    Verb【V】
    Adjective【AJ】
    Adverb【AV】
    Exclamation【EX】
    Conjunction【CJ】
    Postposition【PP】
    Compound【CM】
    Verb suffix《VS》

    Suffix《SF》

Inflicted form of noun or verb

  • For 1st category nouns, the possessive case is provided if its form is confirmed.
    Abh
【N】 gen. Bar. → Nominative: Abh. Possessive: Bar
  • Infliced form of a verb, or verb + verb suffix combination may be listed separately if it is considered important. Its nominative case is also provided.

Origin of words

  • Origin of word is provided in [ ].
  • If the origin is from original Japanese, "jp." is added, and its kana(カナ) is provided. Kana representation follows Keitsuu(契沖) method. (Note: I have no idea what Keitsuu method is.)
  • For those whose origin seem to be ancient ages, its phonetic symbols are added separately, except where inference is easily possible.
  • Where the form or the meaning of a word is related, but the direct connection is questionable, "ref." is used.
  • For compound words, arrows -- ↑ or ↓ -- are used if their major part is used similarly as prefix or postfix respectively.
