Grading Guide
First of all, if you want to see a pic of a specific book, e-mail me &
let me know. I'll send you what I can.
- Very Fine/Near-Mint (VF/NM):
- Beautiful book - like you just bought it. I use VF & NM together
since you can argue that a VF book (can see slight imperfections)
is regarded by some as NM (near-mint, which is the industry standard).
- Fine-Very Fine (FVF):
- Stress lines along spine or cover, small flaking, rounded corners,
spine creases allowed.
- Fine (FN)
- Still a good-looking book, but obvious signs of wear, but no major
creasing.
- Very Good (VG)
- Average-looking books. Basically, these have been used but not abused.
Expect creases & minor tears.
- Good (G), Fair (F) and Poor (P)
- Don't expect much from these. If you're collecting, these would
be "reading" issues. Still not horrible to get if you're looking for
an old book for a small price.
