Christ In The Old Testament - Prophecies Regarding Christ

One of the great marvels of the Old Testament scriptures is the rich sprinkling of prophesies concerning the Son of God, Jesus Christ. Some are very plain in nature, others are a veiled allusion to Christ in an allegorical sense. You may have read some of these Old Testament bible stories once or a hundred times without having seen how they point to the life and salvation provided by our Lord Jesus Christ. The fact that some these bible stories have an allegorical meaning does not take away from their historical accuracy. In fact, In the book of Luke (24:27), we are told how Jesus himself revealed these things to his disciples: "Beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, He explained to them what was said in all the Scriptures concerning himself." What a joy that must have been! While we the readers of the synoptic gospels are not made privy to what the disciples learned, we can pour over the text ourselves and pray that the Lord will reveal those hidden treasures to us. Following are many of the prophesies given in the old testament, and their fulfillment in the new testament. When one examines these many prophesies with an open mind, the conclusion that Jesus Christ is indeed the Son of God is inescapeable. Don't take my word for it, read on!

• As the Son of God
