Praise God! You Are Headed For Eternal Life!
If you now realize that you need to trust in Christ and Christ alone for your eternal life, here is a suggested prayer that may express the desire of your heart. There is nothing special or magical about this particular prayer, it is the desire of your heart that matters most:
Dear Lord,
Thank you for the free gift of eternal life. I know I am a sinner and that I can not save myself. I believe that you, Jesus,
are the Son of God and that you died for my sins and rose again from the dead. I ask your forgiveness for my sins. I now put my complete trust in you and you alone for eternal life. Thank you for saving me. AMEN.

Now that you are a born again
Christian, what should you do?
Attend a Bible-teaching church where you can meet other Christians and can learn the word of God (Acts 2:41-42; Hebrews 10:24-25).
By the way, if you are ever in the Northern Virginia area, I highly recommend the Chesapeake Church International in Leesburg, and as a second choice, Reston Bible Church in Reston, VA.
Be baptized as a testimony to your faith (Matthew 28:19-20; Acts 8:35-39; Romans 6:3-5).
Share your faith with others (known as "witnessing"), telling them where your were in life, how you were saved, and how your life has changed since then. (Matthew 10:32; Romans 10:9-10)
If you have accepted Jesus as your Lord & savior as a result of this web site, please leave me some e-mail so that I can pray for you.

My Testimony
I was born into an Episcopal family with strong ties into the Anglican church in England on my father's side (my Great Uncle was an Arch-Bishop).
I grew up believing that you had to be a "good person" to get to heaven, and that as long as you were baptized and confirmed into the
church, and believed that Jesus was the son of God, you had fulfilled the necessary requirements to get to Heaven. When I became
an adult, my wife and I slowly realized that my church was not teaching that the bible was true in many respects.
As an example, our priest did not believe in the stories of creation or Noah's ark. He taught that they were "nice stories" that
illustrated a point. In reality, the entire point of salvation through Jesus Christ becomes unravelled if you do not believe the story of creation.
Why? Because with out Adam & Eve and original sin, mankind was never separated from God and therefore not in need of
a Savior! I was never told what God wanted from me in order to have eternal life with him in heaven.
The Bishops of the church were even ordaining homosexuals as priests (check out the following verses
in the bible if you want to see why that is a problem: Romans 1:26-27, 1 Corinthians 5:9-11 and 6:9, Leviticus 18:22, Titus 1:7, and others).
As I was driving home one evening, I turned the radio on to the local Christian radio station & heard the "Bible Answer Man"
broadcast. For the first time, I heard the truth. All the legalism of doing good works was totally against God's
word concerning salvation. All that is required is that we acknowledge our sinful nature, that we need to believe that
Jesus paid for our sins when he died on the cross, and that he is indeed the son of God, raised from the dead.
It sounded too easy. Over the next few weeks, I read the entire book of Galatians, then
the entire book of Romans. Finally, I read the book of John. As was written of Paul in the book of Acts, the scales fell from my eyes.
At that point, I realized two things:
1) That the church I attended was not teaching the gospel that God intended (though that is not necessarily true of all churches in this denomination), and
2) That I needed to pray for salvation.
In the month that followed, I had an opportunity to attend the Washington DC Promise Keepers (PK) event and it was there that I trusted
the Lord as my personal savior (click here to hear what PK was like).
While I had genuinely loved that church and the friends I had made there, I knew it was time to move on.
We then searched for several months until (praise God) we found a wonderful, well balanced church (Reston Bible Church) that was faithful to the essential doctrines of the faith. I pray that you will one day find the peace & joy that I now have.
Now I have a personal relationship with God, and am daily conforming my life more and more towards the perfection that is found in Jesus Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit.
There's much more to my story (how I have seen God work in my life both before & after being born again), but you'll have to
write me if you are really interested, or if you just want to know more.
