The
students of this department are not only proficient in their academic
pursuits but also in various extracurricular activities as well. Our students
are regulars at various technical paper presentation and programming
contests. They have been successful at both the National as well
as State levels. Recently, prizes were won at Jalgaon by two students Subhashish
Nandi and Vaijanath Rao. Prizes were also won by students at the recently
concluded State -level Technical Paper Presentation Contest 'INSEARCH 2001'.
Computer
Science students have dominated the G.K quiz contest, personality contest
and also the sports events like table tennis, volleyball, cricket and badminton
that were held in the college this year. Campus recruitment this
year has been unprecedented and 25 students from the Final Year batch of
Computer Science & Engineering have been recruited into various companies
like WIPRO, MBT, TCS, Videocon International, Kalpadrum Infotech and so
on.
We
have a number of our alumnus working in USA. A few students from this years
Final Year batch have also been admitted for higher studies (MS) to universities
in the US. The department has its own library that is maintained
by the students. A meditation hall is also provided where students can
find inner peace. In the past 2 years this department has received special
grants from AICTE Delhi for Computer Networks Lab worth Rs. 5 Lakh.
This year a grant of Rs 7 Lakh is sanctioned for Systems Development Lab.
Prof (Smt) M.S. Joshi is acting as coordinator for both of these grants.
The socially conscientious students , Mr. Jain & Vaibhav visited the
earthquake affected area of Gujarat and helped the affected people through
voluntary organizations.
