Here you'll find the latest news about Ghosts of Pompeii

October 2004: The new "Ghosts Of Pompeii" CD, "FilmClips" is finally completed and will be available at Big Balloon Music this month. For those already familiar with the music of Ghosts Of Pompeii, this collection of tunes is the perfect companion piece to my fouth CD "Themes From The Secret Cinema".

This time out the emphasis is on the horror and sci-fi genre, with a tongue-in-cheek homage to the classic movie madmen and monsters throughout cinema history.

The music treads similar filmscore territory as Italy's 'Goblin', blending dark and aggressive instrumental progressive rock with moody atmospheric ambient pieces.

Track Listing:
1. FilmClips Part I - Collage
2. Feeding Frenzy
3. The Derelict
4. FilmClips Part II - Anthills In Mushroom Clouds
5. A Girl And A Ghoul - Dinner For One
6. Words Of Wisdom
7. FilmClips Part III - "...but his Mother was the lightening."
8. Borgo Pass
9. We Come In Peace Then Leave You In Pieces
10. A Bloodstained Kiss
11. Temple Of Hatshepsut
12. Sideshow ... Freakshow ... Rockshow
13. The Land That Time Forgot - Revisited

NOVEMBER 15th, 2003:

2003 has proven to be something of a breakthrough year for Ghosts Of Pompeii.

Not in the sense that I’ve attained any great level of notoriety or monetary success – but I’ve finally managed to escape the Limbo of anonymity, thanks to the creative efforts of Ron Fuchs, creator of the Official Ghosts Of Pompeii Website; as well as airplay on Web Radio Stations like Progressive Soundscapes and Delicious Agony; and inclusion on two progressive rock compilation discs.

As a result of the website I’ve also established a spin-off Yahoo “Ghosts Of Pompeii” Discussion Group dedicated to the promotion of independent artists and entrepreneurs in the progressive rock field.

In the summer of 2003 the tune “Whispers Of Autumn” opened side two of the massive “Portals II” 4 CD compilation, sponsored by The Progressive Music Society. This mammoth undertaking featured a gallery of talented independent artists from around the globe, presenting a sonic mosaic of progressive, acoustic and electronic rock. To be a part of this collaboration was an honor and an absolute thrill for me.

Later this year another ‘Ghosts’ tune, “Temple Of Hatshepsut” was selected to be among the titles featured on the upcoming “EarSongs III” compilation, sponsored by Progressive Ears.

To be selected for these two compilations is extremely rewarding and a validation of my music.

I am presently in the studio laying down tracks for my eighth album, which I expect to have completed by spring of 2004. This collection of tunes draws its inspiration from horror movies from a bygone age. It combines some of the musical stylings familiar to fans of ‘Ghosts’, while experimenting with a variety of new sounds and textures.
