A good profile on Giaan! ... she has a brother?! ... lol there you go, I always thought for some reason Giaan was an only child... Don't ask me why!
A big Congratulations to Giaan on the 50-100 double in the backstroke at the Aussie Short Course Champs this week.

After an topsy turvey meet, Giaan Rooney this morning saved her best till last as she lead-off the 4 X 100m medley relay team,

That's nasty news about Elka Graham and the fact it is looking "increasingly likely" - (from the IQ news) - that she will be forced to withdraw due to illness -- that would
be such a blow for her definitely first and foremost, but then from a wider view, the Worlds team as she is such a talented swimmer ... I've got everything crossed in the hope that she'll be ok - C'mon Elks! added [July 2]

'Rooney eyes Sydney' - International Quaterback - forgot to save that one :-/ sorry! added [June 12]
Issue no. 13 (June 2003) of 'eSwimmer' - the official online newsletter of Australian Swimming is now
available. As usual, it isn't short of a great read, with lotsa info on the upcoming Grand Prix event in Sydney, and of course the Big One - the World Championships next month, as well as a review on the recent Grand Prix #1 in Cairns.
It also contains some pretty cool news on a team leadership role for Giaan as well as Brett Hawke, Todd Pearson and Grant Hackett (who is also the official team spokesperson) - Sarah Ryan was orginally named but her subsenquent withdrawal from Barcelona means she's no
longer involved in that aspect.
But as I mentioned, be sure to check it all out for yourself - I'm a big fan of it! ;-) added [June 1]
Stand-out performer of the meet undoubtly has to be Alice Mills, who not only turned 17, but her performances also turned a few heads! (har har! ;))
Giaan's results this meet haven't been too darn shabby at all either! :D
The Grand Prix Series hits Sydney in about a months time, to be raced on the 21-22 of June. added [May 25]
Go to this page on the Australian Swimming website for all the latest news, event program and team lists.

Firstly a big apology for not updating this site for a while -- it seems as if it's been busy, busy, busy - but I hope to be able to get back on top of everything now :)

Well, earlier this week I recieved a reply! Talk about stoked!!. If anyone is interested they can check it out here A big 'Thanks!'
As well as the link below, there is some more swimming news - FINA are considering Grant Hackett's request for a change of program for the July World Championships, which Sarah Ryan has withdrawn from to pursue her career in radio, while Petria Thomas today had her shoulder-cast removed today, let the 'come back' to racing being A.S.A.P! :D added [May 15]
