That's nasty news about Elka Graham and the fact it is looking "increasingly likely" - (from the IQ news) - that she will be forced to withdraw due to illness -- that would be such a blow for her definitely first and foremost, but then from a wider view, the Worlds team as she is such a talented swimmer ... Issue no. 13 (June 2003) of 'eSwimmer' - the official online newsletter of Australian Swimming is now available. As usual, it isn't short of a great read, with lotsa info on the upcoming Grand Prix event in Sydney, and of course the Big One - the World Championships next month, as well as a review on the recent Grand Prix #1 in Cairns.
It also contains some pretty cool news on a team leadership role for Giaan as well as Brett Hawke, Todd Pearson and Grant Hackett (who is also the official team spokesperson) - Sarah Ryan was orginally named but her subsenquent withdrawal from Barcelona means she's no longer involved in that aspect.
But as I mentioned, be sure to check it all out for yourself - I'm a big fan of it! ;-) added [June 1]
